If you are an enthusiast you will be aware of the downfalls with LCD technologies and using them in a dark room, and there is no difference here, but as a living room workhorse the Hisense is very good indeed. Therefore, there's no point in getting a great deal on a smart TV if the sound or picture is disappointing. As you can see, in the most accurate picture mode for D65 white, which is HDR Night, the A7G is only capable of 250 nits brightness with all window sizes. The rear legs of the stand do provide cable management so you can run cables out of sight from the front of the TV. It has a direct LED backlight but with no local dimming, it’s a global system and as such the panel is a little deeper than an edge-lit TV. There’s also a TruVolume mode for night-time listening which will limit the peaks and troughs of loudness at any one volume level, so that you can hear the onscreen action without waking your neighbours.Sound is relatively crisp, detailed (especially with Dolby Atmos soundtracks), clean, and able to go reasonably loud without succumbing to such nasties as cabinet buzzing or low-frequency distortions. There is a content discovery feature along with direct one-press buttons on the remote and there is also compatibility with Alexa for voice commands. Some of the data that are collected include the number of visitors, their source, and the pages they visit anonymously. Dark scenes appear behind a wash of excessive greyness that’s so severe at times that it can become hard to actually make out what’s going on in the picture.

Hisense A7G review: an affordable 50-inch QLED TV | T3

Let’s cut to the chase: the 55A7GQ’s picture quality turns out to be hugely disappointing, especially as it arrives amid a generally upward trajectory for Hisense TVs. Running it side by side with a number of rival screens, though, confirms that it’s actually delivering peak brightness levels only in line with other budget sets, and substantially lower than those pushed out by most mid-range sets. VIDAA U boasts a very clean interface, helped by the fact it uses a dedicated home page, rather than an icon overlay in the manner of Panasonic’s My Home Screen or LG’s webOS. It lacks dynamic range and it doesn’t travel the room very well so it won’t be great for watching blockbusters. If you're too close to a TV, no matter how high-quality the image, it's going to look blown out and poor. So, if you're wondering whether you should take the plunge and opt for one of the best 50-inch smart TVs, you're not alone. Heavy bass lines can sound muffled amid a lack of really deep low-frequency extension, while highs occasionally land a bit harshly during particularly dense soundtrack moments.

Hisense A7G (50A7GQ) QLED TV Review | AVForums

There’s a button to take you straight to the Vidaa U homepage as well as buttons that give you quick access to some streaming services including Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube and Freeview Play. Upscaling performance was reasonable with a slightly soft-looking image with some good quality SD channels and DVD discs, but HD 1080i and 1080p did look nice with solid straight lines and only minor signs of ringing around edges with some content. With all that said and understood, the Hisense is a good LED LCD TV for a second room or kitchen and has some decent gaming features and input lag for those who want a bedroom panel for that use and some normal TV viewing. The tk_or is a referral cookie set by the JetPack plugin on sites using WooCommerce, which analyzes referrer behaviour for Jetpack. However, it tends to be sensible to have the smaller TVs in smaller rooms, and larger ones in the biggest rooms. The VIDAA system is intuitive to use and runs at a decent speed from button press to app opening and playing, plus there is Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube in 4K HDR. With 20W of audio power from the speakers, the sound from the Hisense A7G is really loud, I only kept it on about 25% volume for the majority of the time I spent with it.
