There is also a lot of love between the pages as Josie explores the relationship with her daughter while plotting her future.

The relationships are portrayed with compassion and honesty, and the author’s note at the end that explains Hoover’s personal connection to the subject matter is a must-read. This was my book club’s pick for August—probably not a book I’d read on my own; just not my thing, but absolutely nothing wrong with it. Little Imperfections: A Tall Tale of Growing Up Different Peet Montzingo, famous for his videos on social media, joins KCAL Mornings to discuss his new book that addresses the universal theme of be different.

Ultimately, I had a lot of fun with this book and found myself snorting in laughter from time to time. I literally devoured this book in half day and I recommend it to you all who is already exhausted to live same Groundhog day and looking for a brightening reading to get rid of darkening moods. She also has to contend with the parents who are desperate to get their children into the school, particularly a high-maintenance woman with boundary issues, and a pair of husbands she can’t quite figure out.

With this, he presented his thoughts on why one must look at the imperfections with normal perspective and there shouldn't be any discriminating thoughts on someone being different from others. Despite the better option right in front of her, an unexpected complication forces Lily to cut ties with Atlas, confront Ryle, and try to end the cycle of abuse before it’s too late. Everything in life is just a tad off but the author does an excellent job tying it together by the end of the book. Alli was raised in Yakima, WA, the only child of two parents who instilled in her that hard work coupled with a resilient spirit will take you where you want to go.

That coming-of-age tale is at the heart of his picture book, which spins a tale reminiscent of The Ugly Duckling. He was used to things being smaller or shorter in his home, and what I found interesting in the story was that he felt different in other people’s homes because he wasn’t used to things that size or height.

What I loved most about Tiny Imperfections is its honesty in portraying many things because it leads to many emotional moments, but also some highlights of hilarity for good measure--a mother, trying to navigate the next chapter in her life as her daughter prepares for college, the same mother in her day to day life as the director of admissions at a prestigious school. If the reader doesn’t understand what it means to be ashy then let the reader be lost or do some digging on their own. Revolution might sound a little dramatic, but in this world, choosing authenticity and worthiness is an absolute act of resistance.
