But if you install the included Nektarine plugin host and librarian software, you can do a lot more: Impact GX is a MIDI controller as well as a DAW controller. If you use MIDI software that’s not supported by Nektar DAW Integration, a host of options are available for you to set up MIDI control yourself. I choose the 61-note keyboard not because I want a portable MIDI controller, but because I want a playable one. For me, it’s perfect. It is a common problem on low end full-weight MIDI keyboard. As a piano player, the touch is rather plastic and unfriendly to my hands. I will get sore after playing it for 30 mins. I will have to adapt my finger energy to play a more dynamic piece. It is difficult to get consistent soft touch.
