I really enjoyed with what they did with Carnage in this rendition. Each time I re-read it I forget some of the details and it just hooked me once again re-reading it.Collects Marvel Super-Heroes (1967) #12-13, Captain Marvel (1968) #1-33, Iron Man (1968) #55, and material from Not Brand Echh (1967) #9. When Zoe's friend falls victim to a female serial killer, Zoe vows to find the killer before the police and deliver her own razor-edged justice. But the clever assassin proves to be very hard to find as Zoe follows the trail of bodies and the few clues left behind. Using her own unique set of skills, Zoe eventually closes in on the killer until they come face to face for the final kill. Who will walk away? Find out in Terry Moore's newest suspense thriller featuring the irrepressible Zoe from Rachel Rising! Available in softcover and hardcover editions. Collects Secret Wars (1984) #1-12; Thor (1966) #383; She-Hulk (2004) #10; and What If? (1989) #4, 114. This was a great recast of Spider-Man as a year-2000 teenager. Loved the way some of the familiar story beats were reframed. I know it isn't really fair to compare, but this retelling allowed them to improve on the original run on many levels. The storytelling is more condensed and more focused than Lee's original run. Highlights: Peter meeting Fury, the Kingpin, the battle with the Green Goblin seen from the goblin's perspective (trippy!). Venom.

ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN OMNIBUS VOL. 2 | Penguin Random House

Overall it is better than the first Omnibus as Bendis finds his groove and gives us a really good an fun Spiderman. Irresponsible (#40-45). A pretty low-key volumes of USM. It's got a great expanding relationship among Peter, Mary, and Gwen. And it's got an interesting look into May's life. The story of a pseudo-mutant gone bad doesn't hold up to the rest until the X-Men join in, and then that becomes pretty delightful too. Not one of the most amazing volumes of USM, but interesting [4/5]. Collects New Warriors (1990) #27-53; New Warriors Annual (1991) #3-4; Night Thrasher: Four Control (1992) #1-4; X-Force (1991) #32-33; Night Thrasher (1993) #1 (A story), 11-12; Nova (1994) #6-7; New Warriors Ashcan Edition (1994) #1; and material from Marvel Comics Presents (1988) #122, 159-163 and Marvel Holiday Special (1991) #2 Collects Knights of Pendragon (1990) #1-18, Knights of Pendragon (1992) #1-15, Mys-Tech Wars (1993) #1-4, and Dark Guard (1993) #1-4.This is what a Spider-Man comic should be. I've reread issues #1-26 many times but this is my first time getting to #39 due to Marvel being annoying about printing collections and my neurotic need to read everything in a physical form. Peter Parker is a mega dork who constantly screws up while meaning well, and that's what makes him one of the greatest superheroes of all time. Longtime Spidey fans or new fans need to read the Ultimate series as it's the best run since the original 1962 run. It's also very good at being self contained and not requiring the reader to know too much about the Ultimates (this takes place in Earth-1610), with only a few non-Spidey characters showing up. Also has the coolest version of the Green Goblin in my opinion. I keep putting the costume on, don’t I? I keep putting my life in danger to help other people, and I swear to God I really have no idea why, I really don’t.”
