Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages.I was somewhat disappointed with "the secret garden" as I love to use both felts and colouring pencils within designs and with the secret garden you were limited to colouring pencils as felts would simply bleed straight through, NOT with this book, the paper is an excellent thick quality and ive been happily using felts and colouring pencils with no bleed through at all! Also, in the centre of each set of pages, there is glue which if pulled apart can pull some of the picture off - only tiny portions but to be this bothered me cause I didn't want rip paper or loss of drawing lines. The 72 illustrations include loads of different leaves, fish, birds, owls, feathers and more, and they look stunning on each double-page spread either left uncoloured or brightening it up with splashes of colour.

The paper is a lovely creamy tone, which I think complements colours so much better than brighter white shades which beside your colours create too stark a contrast. For me, computer generated graphics can feel cold and soulless whereas hand drawing captures a sense of energy and character which no pixel can ever replicate. Although you do find repeats from other books, each new book is interesting and enjoyable to explore. At the end of the book you must use your 9 found symbols to unlock the castle door and reveal the secret hidden within.
