The books featured on this site are aimed primarily at readers aged 13 or above and therefore you must be 13 years or over to sign up to our newsletter. They were all fleshed out well and there were some intense scenes between them, making this book really engaging. The chapters are short so it’s very easy to get whisked on the Greek Island with Liz and her friends, with the exotic backdrop, bubbling tension, ‘My Husband’s Killer’ is an intense and gripping book that was impossible to put down. I loathed him on instinct when I first met him, assuming he would look down on me for my background, but actually he’s never been anything but kind and rather sweet. Also invited were Trina and husband Julian, Poppy who was Andrews business Partner and Todd’s twenty four year old daughter Kitty.

When Andrew and I were first together we would lie entwined in bed, discussing which of each other’s friends we found attractive. They took my boys - shell shocked and dazed but still needing company and entertainment - on outings, giving me time to deal with the endless admin, or to do nothing at all but stare into space or cry on the sofa. Trina’s wearing a classic black shift dress that used to be fitted but is now loose around her hips and gapes under the arms. All of these people have many secrets that come hurtling out at full speed, and this book is definitely NOT short on drama! This is a slow burner, with a large cast of characters who are not particularly likeable or easy to keep track of. Forced to go on the run to prove her innocence and protect her child, she learns that the woman is a psychopath.

It has been twenty-five years since a local man raged through the small town of Hartstead, shooting eleven people dead at random. Some of them have got secrets which turn out to be pretty huge when the revelations begin to roll in. There’s everything from envy and jealousy to anger and barely bubbling under resentment with a measure of anxiety and desperation.Liz herself was a likeable enough character, which certainly can't be said for all the rest of the group - one is particularly loathsome. Andrew was one of the guests, he and his wife Liz joined the others for a few days of relaxation, sunshine, good food and lots to drink.

My Husband’s Killer sees a group of old university friends come together for a weekend get together on the Amalfi Coast. The novel is original; the characters are well-developed, and the themes are always relevant: love, fear, grief, greed, power, control, and obsession. It sounds like a dangerous game (and probably would be at a later stage of a relationship) but back then we were so secure in our love and attraction for each other that it felt perfectly safe. My Husband’s Killer is another cracking psychological suspense novel from a new favourite author of mine! Only the nanny is (insert title here) and from that point onwards nobody cares about the plot device, it's just the world against Karen and she must fight them all to prove how amazing she is. At times intriguing, at times confusing ( re the biggish cast list and how they all interacted with each other, most of them over decades ) this ‘Whodunit’ for me was solved in my head about half way through, I was crowing I was right, and I was but then the last chapter kinda changed all that….

A woman, widowed far too young at forty-five, surrounded by three other women, old friends, a group supremely at ease in each other’s company. She’s dressed conservatively (for her) in a deep purple maxi dress and tan suede boots, her pink-streaked chestnut brown curls tamed into submission in a knot at the nape of her neck, a hammered silver pendant hanging almost to her waist. The dynamics between the holidaying friends are fascinating, often being alcohol fuelled exchanges but always sparking intrigue.
