But, at the end of the day, the message of this story is all about self-love, and about all the different things in your life that can make you happy besides romance.

My biggest issue which made the last part of the book a real struggle for me: The only thing I hate more than not-happy endings, is not-happy endings that the characters telegraph for you beforehand. And I did read an ARC so MAYBE the editor or Jason June would have, IDK, checked in with a swimmer to just fact-check stuff. Photograph: Henry Nicholls/Reuters View image in fullscreen Liz Truss announces her resignation outside Number 10. As well as the fun fake dating romance, I really enjoyed Crest’s (literal) fish-out-of-water plot – it’s hugely entertaining to watch them get to grips with the weird things about human teen culture! Robert Tregoning studied at the Glasgow School of Art before leaping in to a career on the West End stage.Une romance à base de magie et sirène très cute, un chouïa long peut être mais très vraiment sympa et original. As a fluff story of queer love and diverse lives, I can see this book being something people really enjoy. And every now and then he takes a yellow item – a rubber duck, some sticky notes – and hides them in his closet. I think this is a testament to how it's just such a fun, light read, which makes it quite difficult to want to put down and pause. Then again, you see the greens and rainbows of the world painted over and discarded, while you savour any little piece of difference you can find.

Ross's choice of the Blue over Sean was in the mer's mind all the time, and the story let me hope not once, but twice, that they would end up together after a twist, only for the author to double back and say "nope, the right choice is to pick Home, not Love".They’ve polluted the planet so much that there’s a floating island of trash that’s literally the size of a country. This agile sea creature displays in its scales one of the most wonderful expressions of natural geometry. Out of the Blue was an adorable coming-of-age story involving teenage love and struggling to find where you fit in the world. Out of the Blue can be completed by a teenager on their own or with the help of a family member or appropriate professional. The Bookseller quoted Cole and Heale as saying Truss "has been written off, belittled and undermined throughout her march to power", and expressing a desire to explain her rise to the prime minister's office.

I have a big soft spot for swimming (I always wanted to be a mermaid as a child), and this book definitely brought back those childhood dreams. At some point I felt like I was only reading it because it was like a car crash I couldn’t look away from. Truss had hatched a plan to cut childcare costs by slashing the number of adults required to supervise children, which unsurprisingly proved controversial. Angelos translates to "messenger" in Greek; the Hebrew word for angel is mal'ach, also meaning messenger. Crest is not excited to be on their Journey: the month-long sojourn on land all teen merfolk must undergo.

From stones of incredible size and beauty to nature’s rarest and most astonishing treasures, Tiffany’s immense portfolio of white, yellow and fancy colour diamonds is unlike any other. While the publication is not an authorised biography, Andrew Anthony with The Guardian speculates that Truss was the source for a substantial amount of the book's information. But nonetheless, I was really invested the entire book in their relationship, and I really enjoyed all the classic fake dating notes. Perhaps one of the most surreal creatures to be found beneath the ocean’s surface, the jellyfish moves through the sea like a dancer. Seventeen-year-old Jaya has lost a lot recently: her mother, who died in a freak accident, and her first girlfriend, who has moved away without warning. It was such a pleasure to meet you both, and I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally you ran everything. The perspective switches back and forth between Sean and nonbinary merperson Crest, which makes for some really wonderful contrasts in how they each experience events – I quickly fell in love with them both, and was really rooting for them to realise they were in love with each other!
