This is a genuine love story between these two men that will warm your heart and soul...make you feel like you are on cloud 9. Make you feel fluffy and soft and gushy and will definitely make you say "EHHH!". Cherry Magic has stolen my breath and my heart! Every week I anxiously wait for the new episodes like my life depends on it. The chemistry between the leads is sizzling and you can feel it from the very first interaction and you can feel as each episode progresses the chemistry intensifies. At first, honestly, I thought this will be like Ossan's love with overly comedic with little focus on romance especially when I read that the guy will have mind-reading power and the trailer also really didn't impress me but thank god I gave this gem of drama a shot and I fell in love. This technique gives the story, which I suppose is predominantly created as a romantic comedy, a more serious undertone. (Or maybe I'm reading way too much into this). Adachi and Kurosawa are brilliantly cast. These two lead actors play a large part in what makes Cherry Magic so successful. In lesser hands, the Adachi and Kurosawa characters might be nowhere near as likable. However, the actors bring so much charm and charisma to their roles that they really elevate the characterization. In conclusion, give the show a chance and even if the first episodes don't work for you I can assure you that you will fall in love with Adachi and Kurosawa eventually. Something widely refered to as the Cherry Magic effect.

no energy left in me cuz I have been screaming my aura out these past few days rewatching the entire series trying to make sense of how two grown men can look that softkittywarmkittylittleballoffur fluffy together wearing plain white tshirts and whispering silly stuffs and giggling together and me watching the extra two episodes and pseudobanging my head on all that fluffiness because of not being able to see them chu and that's a very bad thing to do to the soullighters of the show I mean me so that's all I have been doing all this time and for the innumerable times of rewatching to come*** a b Hodgkins, Crystalyn (October 13, 2023). I never skipped the opening or the ending of this show. Both are very nice to listen to. The opening of the show (Ubugoe/Birth) being Adachis view of the situation and the ending of the show (Good Love your Love) being Kurosawas view.

November 2020 (Episode 6): Yes, it's actually out on Thursdays first and the episodes formally available on Fridays. The final episode blessed me! I was getting really anxious while watching the first half of the episode but damn this team works wonders in making EVERYTHING alright in just a snap!

To be honest I feel the live-action characters have more feel to them than the manga in my humble opinion. Also, the director did an amazing job of executing the story. And I am glad that they are adding their own original scenes to this adaptation and changing the timelines of specific scenes which I think will be more exciting. When Adachi accidentally hears or sees Kurosawa's inner thoughts his first reaction is to pull away or scream internally. In my second reread, I found that I still love this manga and I appreciate the live drama adaption of the manga even more now! I would still highly recommend this manga and I will most likely continue to reread this series often in the future! Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! ( Japanese: 30歳まで童貞だと魔法使いになれるらしい, Hepburn: Sanjūsai made Dōtei Da to Mahōtsukai ni Nareru rashii ) is a Japanese boys' love (BL) manga series by Yuu Toyota. I really enjoyed the first half of the Cherry Magic special. The plot was simple, focusing on the first Valentine's Day that Kurosawa and Adachi spent together. On this special occasion, Kurosawa is showered with chocolates and gifts from his female coworkers. However, he only cares about Adachi and wants to give him his homemade chocolates.I can't even count how many times I've rewatched this show during its airing time. That's not a joke, I've been part of CM watchparties and rewatched the show myself a lot of times. I think even now that the show has ended its definitely worth rewatching to watch the great acting of the main leads or just to enjoy the experience all over again. Because this show is just that, an enjoyable experience. You can also find many hidden details if you pay attention when watching the show. The happy ending we wanted! First, I saw this is Japan when it first came out and Japanese is not my native language, so there was some dialogue I didn’t understand. However, using context clues it was easy to infer what was being said based on the scene. The biggest things for me was that it was still a love story between Kurosawa and Adachi. Kurosawa was still just as in love with Adachi as he was in the series, however you got to see Adachi demonstrating his love for Kurosawa more confidently and openly. There's already 4 volumes as of right now, but only 1 & 2 have english copies. The rest are coming soon, I will edit this review to share my thoughts and feelings about them. (God, how I wish I could read Japanese right now...) I rated Volume 1 a 4/5 and Volume 2 a 3/5 (on Goodreads) giving an average of 3.5/5 which makes the MAL score 7/10, but I added one more point here because I want to! lol

Adachi and Kurosawa are the type of couple that any BL fan will find easy to ship. They're two handsome guys with endearing personalities and a vibrant relationship dynamic. Their scenes together are as sweet as they are amusing. It's funny whenever Adachi reacts to Kurosawa's amorous thoughts about him. Yeah, the premise is stupid. There's no explanation for how Adachi figured out that it was specifically his thirty years of virginity that somehow gave him the power to read minds, and he definitely wasn't wrong either - a friend of his, also still a virgin by his thirtieth birthday, also developed the ability to read minds. There's a brief author's note in which this is all explained as "a whim of the goddess of love" (19) - basically, the goddess of love feeling sorry for these poor virgins and giving them telepathy so they can figure out that someone nearby is interested in them. Which I'm sure was supposed to be a cute hand-wavy explanation but just made me wince. Then there's Rokkaku. This guy really makes a name for himself but all characters in this show have a good heart. His overly energetic presence was always immediately visible on screen and he has been a fun addition to the show. Fujisaki is the beloved female character and likely the best female character in all of BL. An example of how to give female characters a positive presence in a BL show. Her knowing smile and caring character really makes scenes a lot better. There's not a lot to say about Urabe but he has some character growth as well, showing that all characters have some good in them. Did anyone else ask the question of "should this be read left to right or right to left? - because I sure did. a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o "Interview with Yu Toyota - "Cherry Magic" (Cherry Maho), a popular manga about an inexperienced virgin who gains the ability to cheat in love, is being made into a TV drama!". Pixivision. October 8, 2020 . Retrieved December 23, 2022.The moment that I'll always remember about Adachi is his conversation with Fujisaki in Episode 4. When the topic of Fujisaki's love life comes up, Adachi shares a refreshing insight that you wouldn't expect from the main character in a BL drama. Adachi has noticed Kurosawa from the start. Kurosawa's achievements are so prominent that he isn't the type of person you can ignore. Adachi is familiar with who he is, understands what his colleague has accomplished, and admires him from afar. It should also go on record that Adachi commented on Kurosawa's blinding smile more than once, a physical attribute that he subconsciously finds attractive. 😙 Both protagonists in Cherry Magic are immensely likable. Adachi might be riddled with insecurities at first, but he's a sensitive soul who goes on an empowering journey of personal growth. As for Kurosawa, he's pretty much the perfect love interest, the epitome of a beautiful person inside and out. You can always rely on him to say the right words, make the right moves, and even think the right thoughts. Yet, Kurosawa can also feel vulnerable beneath his poised persona, and his character development is just as intricate throughout the drama. Volume 1: Not much has happened in this volume, but I still enjoyed it. It's very cute and I like the fact that there's fluff right away. I have a soft spot for it, oh my god. I'm not a fan of the plot, the whole virginity thing, I just don't find it appealing

By the fourth episode, it received 86/100 points, making it the second highest ranked television series for the week. [43] [44] [45] The tenth episode scored 90/100 points and was the highest ranked in its week. [46] In Taiwan, the television drama was the highest viewed show on KKTV [ zh] for six consecutive weeks. [47] See also [ edit ] Although Adachi was acquainted with Kurosawa, he didn't know his coworker that closely. He takes Kurosawa at face value, idealizing him as this perfectly competent employee who can do no wrong. Adachi would often compare himself to Kurosawa and point out his own inferiorities. Although this version of Kurosawa is pretty perfect, Adachi doesn't fall in love with him because of his successes. The way he speaks about his coworker comes from a place of awe instead of attraction. Overall, if you are a fan of the series, you can't really not watch it, but if you haven't seen the series, I think I would pass on it. My friend who I watched it with hadn't seen the series, and said he enjoyed it, but mostly because of the attractiveness of the main leads XP I don't know. I wish this was twice its length, because I feel like it was too short to really get a good feel for it. I'm not 100% sold on this series, but I think I might be willing to give the next volume a shot, despite my dislike of the whole "virginity confers special powers" thing.
