Yarn – WeCrochet Dishie – Aran/Worsted/Medium (4), 174m/100g, 190yds/3.5oz, 100% Cotton, Linen and Clarity Elevate your crochet DIY home décor with these easy boho coasters! Crocheted using 2 strands of cotton yarn held together, you can whip up these coasters in no time! The unravelled fringe adds a fun boho feel that perfectly complements a warm mug of tea or a fruity, summery drink!

For a bit of fun I tried to make this pattern with a different weight yarn and I think they look exactly the same (pictured above). The natural coloured coasters are crocheted with We Crochet’s Simply Organic Cotton Sport yarn. This 100% cotton yarn is soooo soft and plush so they’re not as stiff as the Dishie yarn coasters but you can barely tell the difference. When you reach the last two stitches of the round, make 1 dc and 1 hdc in the next stitch (47), 1 hdc and 1 sc in the last stitch. (48). ROUND 6: *SC 4, 2SC; rep from * until end. For ROUND 7: rep *2SC, SC 5; until end. For ROUND 8: rep *SC 6, 2SC; until end. For ROUND 9: rep *2SC, SC 7; until end etc. This crochet coaster is made from a spiral, that is levelled off and then fringe is added around the edges. Add a little charm to your coffee table with this beginner-friendly free crochet pattern. Made in the round using only one stitch. The spiral is worked in continuous rounds with a stitch marker indicating the 1st st of the round. At the end of a round, do NOT slip stitch into the 1st st to join. For the Boho Crochet Coasters, I used We Crochet’s Dishie Yarn in a variety of colours! The light grey shade is called ‘ Clarity’ while the Beige/Tan shade is called ‘ Linen’. The Dishie range includes 30 different solid shades from neutrals to pastels and brights and you can also find ‘ Dishie Twist’ which is a range of shades that look like baker’s twine! sc – single crochet:Insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull through, yarn over and pull through last two loops on hook. It’s a really simple technique and adds the perfect touch to any crochet project! Other Free Crochet Home Decor Projects Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first double crochet), 11 dc in the 3rd chain from hook. Do not slip stitch. (12 sts)

You could probably use any combination of cotton yarn from sport to DK to aran to bulky but I’d just recommend that you hold at least 2 strands of yarn and adjust how many rounds your crochet to match the measurements of the coaster. This is the key to achieving the sturdy, macramé look or else the coaster will be a bit floppy and more like a doily. Once we’ve crocheted the spiral we’ll level it off by crocheting a few slip stitches at the end to create a smooth edge. Fasten off and leave the tail – there’s absolutely no need to weave in the ends as we’ll use it for the fringe! For this coaster pattern, I chose to work with We Crochet Dishieyarn in the color linen. It’s a worsted weight, number 4 cotton yarn.I love working with this cotton yarn because it’s really soft and it doesn’t split like some other cotton yarns. To finish the spiral, in the final round, stop 2 sts before the SM. Sl st into the next 5 sts and fasten off.

The coasters begin by crocheting a 6 single crochets into 1 chain. Placing all of the single crochets in the same stitch will make them ‘fan out’ and form a circle shape. We’ll then crochet in rounds, to form a spiral and increase the stitches until we reach the desired diameter. If you’re using a fine-tooth comb, brush through a few tassels at a time (it’s a lot easier than trying to comb out half the fringe at once).
