I find that I am not able to get that super snug wrap in the Rebel 3 because the midfoot always gets too tight before I get the right tension in the front and heel. David Salas is a 135 lb male with notable PRs ranging from 3:54 in the 1500m to 1:08:36 for half marathon.

The Rebel v2 was my overall favorite shoe of 2021 (road or trail) and remains a top 10, if not top five, all-time favorite shoe. A really soft, squishy base feels like walking on clouds, but feels snappy and fun once you start to move. The outsole pattern has changed a little, especially in the forefoot, where there’s now a distinct separation between mid- and forefoot instead of the different shaped pattern in v2. I initially thought they made the last narrower, but a cursory comparison of v2 and v3 showed that the midsole widths are not all that different.Like the midsole foam, the rubber on the outsole is also super soft so the shoe flexes easily and freely up in the forefoot. They do a great job, just they're a bit too heavy/clunky and are also slowly turning me into a heel striker.

The toe box volume is a little lower and it is marginally shorter than v2 though this does not really bother me.
