He watches the passengers and sees one ‘trawling through brown mounds of slush‘ to a ‘ cluttered apartment‘ with ‘ mewling cats’. But when the boy in the suit gets off on the same stop as Milo--walking the same path, going to the exact same place--Milo realizes that you can't really know anyone just by looking at them.

This would be an excellent book to share with school-age children to spark conversations about prejudice, unconscious bias as well as thinking about universally shared experiences of family, love and hope. There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors. A little girl ponders the everyday wonders she likes most – friends, pencils, staring out of windows – and the person who remains her favourite thing in the world.Full of life, hope and love, this is a remarkable picture book with a strong, lyrical text and outstanding illustrations, not to be missed. But when the boy in the suit gets off on the same stop as Milo–walking the same path, going to the exact same place–Milo realizes that you can’t really know anyone just by looking at them. From Last Stop on Market Street Matt De La Peña and Christian Robinson lead readers on another journey. We are experiencing delays with deliveries to many countries, but in most cases local services have now resumed. Leo: A Ghost Story, illustrated by Robinson and written by Mac Barnett (Chronicle, 2015), was named a 2015 New York Times Best Illustrated Children's Book of the Year.

For most readers though, seeing a 'Mum' character in orange and meeting their small child behind a table, watched my guards with holsters. He is the author and illustrator of the picture books Another and You Matter , and he has illustrated many more, including Carmela Full of Wishes , the Gaston and Friends series, School's First Day of School , and The Smallest Girl in the Smallest Grade . Bronnie is so lovely with the boys and we also felt that having a man enthusing about the books set a great example. It is accepted by you that Daunt Books has no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. Pictures brimming with activity, an endearing main character, and threads for thinking about art, families, and what we see in others make this a book that will hold up to many readings.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

I admire the Milo-filter of the pictures and text, it's very child-centric and accessible, with sister on her phone, pencil drawings by Milo, it feels like a regular boy just like every reader. But when the boy in the suit gets off on the same stop as Milo—walking the same path, going to the exact same place—Milo realizes that you can’t really know anyone just by looking at them. There is an another, imagined world, an absence between siblings and then the weight of the journey end. Award winning team Matt De La Peña and Matt Robinson of Last Stop on Market Street have created an outstanding picture book recommended for readers of all ages.

Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first. His Josephine: The Dazzling Life of Josephine Baker, written by Patricia Hruby Powell (Chronicle, 2014) received numerous awards and accolades including a Sibert Informational Book Award Honor and a Coretta Scott King Award Illustration Honor from the American Library Association; a Boston Globe-Horn Book Nonfiction Honor; a Parents Choice Gold Medal for Poetry 2014; and a place on the Wall Street Journal's 10 Best Children's Books of the Year List. With the same combination of wide-eyed observation and suspenseful buildup to a socially conscious revelation that readers cherished in this duo's award-winning Last Stop on Market Street (2015), this picture book offers a child's view of the impacts of incarceration on families. This author and illustrator are my favorite dynamic duo and I continue to look forward to their work.
