About this deal

If you are wanting light-hearted book club books for 2020, you’ve found the perfect choice in socially awkward Eleanor Oliphant.

Then you need to “save the date” and join us, either in person or via the zoomie-zoom on Friday 17th June for the ABA Awards Night. Kvothe, a living legend in the world he lives in, tells how he cultivated his life into a myth of epic proportions to a local biographer. Be warned, Rothfuss never released the third book in the series, so start this book at your own risk. While I haven’t read all of these and maybe some were a 4 star for me, I can totally see why they made your Best Of list. Subscriptions for the 2023 awards are still open, and even though we have announced the Long List there is still plenty of time to vote for the 2023 Shortlist!

A book filled with series of engaging activities that is fun and at the same time works on developing the child’s skill development. Faber Members get access to live and online author events and receive regular e-newsletters with book previews, promotional offers, articles and quizzes.

We are absolutely thrilled with the wide range of titles that have been nominated this year, and we really hope you are too. Just ignore the why this happening and jump right into the mystery come to life, with plenty of fun twists and turns along the way. The Amazing Book Is Not on Fire took the number-two spot on The Official UK Top 50 and took the number-one spot of Hardback Non-Fiction list. As she confesses under torture, you’ll find yourself on the edge of your seat wondering what secrets she is willing to exchange for her life. So we see a wheelchair user in the midst of friends and taking part in activities with everyone else as an equal, and on occasion, a leader.I would highly recommend “The Nightingale” by Kristin Hannah, “A Gentleman In Moscow” and “Rules of Civility” both by Amor Towles and “Red Notice” by Bill Browder.

Victor Hugo’s tale of Jean Valjean – the peasant convicted for stealing a loaf of bread – will leave you breathless.John Grisham’s debut novel didn’t receive much attention until after he published the bestsellers The Firm and The Pelican Brief, but it’s my favorite of his books. With classics such as Ted Hughes's The Iron Man and award-winners including Emma Carroll's Letters from the Lighthouse, Faber Children's Books brings you the best in picture books, young reads and classics. I’m not sure what the five star pics are based on and if you’ve already read all of these, but everyone that I had already read that was on this list I completely agree with being five star. Steve Antony is a British children's author and illustrator, who has written and illustrated 16 picture books.

Looking back, the massive power of Silicon Valley will surely be a recurrent theme in literature in the years to come. I hope that you might be tempted to delve into some of my book journey recommendations and I would love you to add your comments onto my reviews if you have already discovered the books I have written about! If you want to discuss this same topic with younger children, I suggest reading the middle-grade book Blended by Sharon M. She has the habit of saying exactly what she thinks and much prefers to spend her weekends at home talking on the phone to her mother.

Others are Bel Canto, Poisonwood Bible, Ahab’s Wife, My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry, The Girl Who Fell From the Sky, The Thirteenth Tale. With a lovely, gentle message about celebrating our differences and all the different things we are good at, Amazing is the perfect book to start a conversation about understanding and diversity with little ones. However, I would include The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt and also Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides as well as The Art of Hearing Heartbeats by Jan-Philipp Sendker. Within relatively few words, alongside elegantly flowing and expressive illustrations by Karen George, the Catchpoles convey a complex topic with a dexterous lightness of tone and clarity.
