About this deal

Using a bottomless portafilter, because it looks ace, and it gives feedback on what's happening with the shot. With commercial level features and performance, The Dual Boiler provides you with the ability to create Barista-quality coffee at home. Thank you so much for such a comprehensive review, it has answered all of my questions and assisted me in making up my mind. Steam wand, powered by a dedicated boiler, delivers micro-foam texture of commercial machines that enhances flavour and is essential for creating latte art.

Simply choose the temperature and how much foam you would like to accompany your own version of a classic coffee style, you can also try your hand at a bit of latte art. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.Either that, or you just really enjoy reading my stuff and you can't close this post ;-), and if that's the case, excellent. You can extract espresso and texture milk simultaneously, allowing you to capture the delicate aromatics of the espresso in your coffee by having the espresso and milk ready at the same time. I’ve just measured my Dual Boiler, it’s just under 37cm deep, just over 41cm wide from water knob to steam knob, and just under 38cm tall. Bar Italian Pump: Dual 15 bar Italian made pumps allow simultaneous milk texturing and espresso extraction. It also offers a true low pressure pre-infusion, which gradually increases the pressure to gently expand the grinds for an even extraction, for a smoother taste.

Re judging books by their covers, the Sage Dual Boiler doesn't look like most other prosumer, or home barista espresso machines.Litre drip tray capacity – with an “Empty Me” indicator | Big drip tray means fewer trips to the sink to empty it, and the empty me indicator means you don't forget to empty it and end up with an over flowing drip tray. From an aesthetic standpoint, this machine looks very much like every other Sage appliance, and how you feel about it will be a matter of personal taste. Yes what I was referring to in that post was that the cheaper machines tend to have 15 bar pumps, and no overpressure valves. It’s not uncommon to hear the Sage Dual Boiler referred to as one of the best value espresso machines on the market. On the other hand, if you've already been using a more entry-level single boiler or thermoblock machine for a while and you were thinking of upgrading, I'd give the Sage Dual Boiler some serious thought, especially if you were considering upgrading to the next logical step which would be a heat exchanger machine.

The steam wand is the professional caliber, and it’s double-walled so that the outside doesn’t get hot enough to burn you. I've found you can also back off the brew pressure really quite precisely without any mod, by simply opening the hot water valve very slightly while pulling the shot, and in theory, this does exactly the same, the only negative being that you waste some hot water. Any espresso machine can develop bigger issues requiring major repair jobs, but from looking through the huge thread on the Home Barista forums and from speaking to engineers, I don't believe you're any more likely to encounter such an issue with a Sage Dual Boiler than any other dual boiler espresso machine. If you look after your machine and avoid severe limescale, it's very unlikely you'll encounter this issue.

Included Grouphead Filters - Single and dual wall filters in both single and double shot size. While being significantly more expensive, the Sage Dual Boiler looks like it will give me the control I want to produce great coffee whilst also not completely dropping myself in the deep end! Great review, really informative and has convinced me to go for it, it was the straw that broke the camels back as it were. To someone who hasn't caught the home barista bug, or to someone who doesn't even drink coffee, spending hundreds or even thousands on a coffee machine must seem very odd, I get that.

Cleaning and maintenance is an area in which this machine shines, especially when compared to similar double boilers. The Dual Boiler is a unique espresso machine that pairs advanced functionality with a user-friendly interface, and it is unmatched by anything else on the market. br/>True commercial features and performance in a domestic foot print The machine for the home barista chasing perfection with true commercial features and performance in a domestic foot print. WARRANTY: 2 Year Repair Replace or Refund Guarantee; Power: 2200 Watts; Voltage: 220-240 Volts; Capacity: 2. This machine also includes the option of low-pressure pre-infusion and offers you a ton of control over the process ( 3).The only reason I would start out with a more entry-level machine, personally, would be affordability. With a machine like this which gives such control over pump pressure, you're no longer restricted to the norm when it comes to pulling espresso, and it's possible to pull some amazing shots with the Slayer. Once we’d got The Dual Boiler set up properly, we got, hands-down, the best results we’ve had with any espresso machine so far.
