Using a DANSAND® NO GROW™ filling material in your joints means waving goodbye not just to hard work – you can also wave goodbye to harmful chemicals. Likewise, it is important that you have are maintaining your joints on a regular basis, making sure that they are always completely filled.
The product is dried and based on fine round-edged silica sand, which makes it easy to distribute in the joints.
You can also use a high-pressure cleaner, but be careful not to damage the paving stones or the sublayer. I always do this now as a matter of course, it stops the salts coming out and frost damage etc, etc. Making sure your block paved driveway is entirely free from any existing weeds and debris, Dansand No Grow can be brushed into the lightly moistened joints between your patio pavers with a stiff broom. I would be concerned that conventional 4:1 sand / cement mix will crack like it has in the past and it will get to the state it is now, albeit it hasn't been touched or maintained for something like 10-20 years.It went down ok and looked good, but then it rained which washed some of it out and now two weeks later there seem to be more weeds growing than before.
