You have to suspend your disbelief a little at points this year, as some characters do manage to travel around the continent far quicker than you might expect possible. Suffice it to confirm GAME OF THRONES remains awesome, totally involving and one of television's very best. Though she now sits on the Iron Throne, she has effectively undone all of Tywin Lannister's efforts to ensure that his family stay in power as her actions have undoubtedly earned her the hatred of all of Westeros.Flesh Tones: The skin tones for the most part look natural and authentic throughout the presentation. There are some very good performances throughout this season, with everyone being as good as ever particularly Maisie Williams as Arya. It is based on The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring, the forthcoming sixth and seventh novels of A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. For the ultimate viewing you really need to see this series in 4K Ultra HD, or Blu-Ray if you don't have a 4K player.

I mentioned the action already, but it should come as no surprise that the battles are a major part of this season. Jon proposes capturing a wight beyond the Wall to prove their existence and convince Cersei to accept a temporary alliance. Season 7 sees old alliances fracture and new ones emerge, but like it or not they all seem to have a common enemy now.

Like the past seasons the battle sequences are both spectacular and grand, always managing to showcase some of the show’s finest hours, albeit more frequent this year. The seventh and penultimate season of the brilliant 'Game of Thrones' series is shorter than those that have gone before at only seven episodes (although some of the episodes are longer than those of previous seasons) but is still as entertaining as its predecessors with some truly great scenes, usually the ones involving dragons.

In King's Landing, Cersei Lannister, bereft of any surviving heirs, has successfully seized the Iron Throne by using wildfire to incinerate the High Sparrow and other foes in the Sept of Baelor. Given that Littlefinger was instrumental in the outbreak of the War of the Five Kings (by conspiring with Lysa Arryn to murder Jon Arryn, pit the Starks and Lannisters against each other, and throw Westeros into complete chaos), and that one of his initial goals was to become the new Warden of the North, Jon's ascension to King in the North is now a major obstacle in his master plan, setting the stage for a looming conflict between Jon and Littlefinger, the latter already having sewn seeds of distrust in Sansa towards Jon.
