En ella nos relata su vida familiar desde que se conocen hasta que fallecen, donde iremos viendo el paso del tiempo, los progresos, las diferencias entre ambos, etc.

There were some funny moments but I also didn't get a lot of the jokes, language, or historical references when they referred to England. Having first read this picture book many years ago I was inspired to re-read it after seeing the fantastic motion picture version over the winter.

When the book begins Ethel is a lady's maid cleaning a window and Ernest a milkman riding by on his bike. The clipped dustwrapper is likewise Near Fine+: clean and bright - an unusually fresh example; a tiny mark and small rub to the heel of the spine; presented in a removable, archival-quality Brodart protective cover.

This novel was listed in an article entitled "50 Essential Graphic Novels", which was published on AbeBooks on the 7th of November 2013. It's a very personal, heartfelt story of the lives of an ordinary British couple during the years 1920-1970.Nothing is invented, nothing embroidered – this is the reality of two decent, ordinary lives of two people who, as Briggs tells the story, become representative of us all.

In telling the story of his parents' lives, and how he entered the picture, he makes their fairly ordinary lives seem extraordinary and makes any reader feel there is part of their life in there somewhere.By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. También me hubiese encantado que las páginas fuesen más grandes para poderme sumergir aún más en los dibujos: para notar mejor el tacto de la moqueta, la rugosidad del papel de pared, el calor de la chimenea de ladrillo, el silbido de la tetera. For his contribution as a children's illustrator Briggs was a runner-up for the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1984. This was such a short and sweet book and I enjoyed every aspect of it from the storyline, the illustrations and how grateful we are as human beings when parents try and make the life of their children better than what they went through. It captures vividly the ageing of loved ones, their loss and the resulting unfillable void for those left behind.
