I was very much put off by the size at first but after some shooting, I really didn’t care that much! It is not a problem of any sort but if you are shooting video for example you might prefer a more reactive zoom ring when you need to quickly change focal lengths. You can program it to toggle adjustments such as white balance or RAW, but it can also be set as an AF-stop button. technology because Olympus bodies have internal stabilisation but Lumix cameras don’t (with the exception of the GX7).

The lens is obviously going to perform better than the Oly 12-50mm anyway, it’s going to be at least as sharp, and most of the time a lot more so- I’ll be honest I only briefly checked sharpness comparisons online to make sure it was decent- it’s way better than the Oly 12-50 as you’d expect.

Zuiko PRO is built as such, with an all-metal construction that's splash-proof, dust-proof and freeze-proof.
