This delightful book is a treat for those who have an interest in art, England, or for those who simply wish to understand the mind of Prince Charles a little better. The Prince of Wales (or The Duke of Rothesay, as he is known in Scotland) has many fond memories of visiting The Castle of Mey on holiday as a child, with his grandmother. This watercolour was painted by The Prince of Wales in 2015, and shows an abandoned croft on Stroma, an island off the northern coast of the mainland of Scotland. Some of the technologies we use are necessary for critical functions like security and site integrity, account authentication, security and privacy preferences, internal site usage and maintenance data, and to make the site work correctly for browsing and transactions. The alternative WATERCOLOURS publication may be better for the pictures, though I have not had a chance to see it. Each of the 73 color plates in this book also are accompanied by Prince Charles's personal experiences while painting the picture.

Far more than any biography, this book will give you an insight into the artistic mind of the Prince of Wales, as well as enlighten you to the way he feels about the environment, his country, and the World beyond England. For 20 years the Prince of Wales has found private expression for his love of the countryside through the medium of watercolour painting. Our notecards feature four designs printed on two cards: the Terrace Garden, the Cedar Tree in front of Highgrove House, the Sanctuary in the Snow, and the South Front of Highgrove House. Ben, from Otley, took eight months to complete the complex interpretation at Dovecot Studios in Edinburgh after loaning The Prince’s original watercolour from Clarence House. The gallery is open seven days a week from 11am – 4pm apart from on 25th January and 31st January – 4th February. He said: “You don’t want a slavish copy of the watercolour, as that’s like translating a novel through an online tool; you don’t capture the essence. International products have separate terms, are sold from abroad and may differ from local products, including fit, age ratings, and language of product, labeling or instructions. You may leave a maximum bid which will instruct the computer to bid on your behalf only as much as required for you to remain the highest bidder up until your limit. The British have been known to consider strongly ``opinionated'' views unseemly, and yet the Prince of Wales is well known for issuing firm-minded positions on all sorts of subjects. Some of these experiences appear soul-stirring and patriotic; for example his painting entitled View of Double Haven Bay from HMY Britannia.

But, nevertheless, the great thing about painting is that you are making your own individual interpretation of whatever view you have chosen. We’re very much looking forward to presenting this special collection to the public from November and into the new year. I was sitting on a grass slope amongst a large quantity of sheep droppings with my back beginning to give out and with pins and needles in my bottom!I suppose any crown prince could get a book of his watercolours published, but this is a collection worthy of wide admiration even if it were done by an anonymous artist. A London exhibition by The Prince’s Foundation showcasing 79 of HRH The Prince of Wales’s watercolours represents the largest-ever display of The Prince’s work and the first full exhibition of his watercolours. This watercolour, painted by The Prince of Wales in 2016, shows abandoned crofts on Stroma, an island off the northern coast of the Scottish mainland, not far from The Castle of Mey. The exhibition has opened at The Garrison Chapel at Chelsea Barracks in Belgravia, London, the charity’s exhibition space dedicated to telling the story and conveying the focus of The Prince’s Foundation, which hosts the significant collection of the work of The Prince until 14 February 2022. Rosie Alderton, curating the exhibition for The Prince’s Foundation, said: "His Royal Highness has said before that he likes to sit in the actual environment and paint en plein air, and that, for him, taking a photograph doesn’t have the same feel as a painting.
