About this deal

The Audio Commentary by Hong Kong Film Expert Frank Djeng begins with his bonafides and the various titles Royal Warriors went under around the world. Not available on home video in the UK since the VHS era, Eureka Classics is proud to present the film on Blu-ray from a brand new 2K restoration. The Audio Commentary by Frank Djeng on the HK Version continues the critic’s great deep dive into the world of In the Line of Duty. Cracking action movie with Cynthia Khan and a fresh faced Donnie Yen, reminds me of police story but just a bit more serious, with excellent fight scenes (as I expect with any film starring Mr Yen ) for any fan of Hong Kong cinema this is a must see. Still, the film moves very quickly and feels like a slick entry in the annals of Hong Kong action cinema with almost nonstop gunfire, explosions, and close quarters fisticuffs.

The themes of the story are similar too, with a Japanese cop seeking vengeance in Hong Kong, and a Hong Kong police force more accustomed to bureaucracy than actual police work, much to the annoyance of the idealistic protagonist. The film is evidence against a surly and easily amused gangster, and by a series of events, a pair of bumbling (but likable) crooks manage to obtain the evidence, and before long, they’re being chased by the gangster’s goons.Title prompts the various topics of the interview like Early Cinematic Influences, ‘Commerical’ Success in Hong Kong – meaning TV Commericals, working with Jackie Chan, training for Yes, Madam! transfer features less natural grain and has minor issues with haloes along the darkest edges, but isn’t un naturally crisp or overrun with DNR, either. Fortunately, Yuen was perfectly capable of matching and even improving upon an established house style.

If a term is more obscure than average then I try to explain it, same with jokes (sometimes in parenthesis). Early on the film really plays on the comedy side of things, especially with Yeung trying to make a difference as a police woman, but coming up against the daft bureaucracy of the department, and an uncle who wants to keep her away from all of the action. JJ Bona on Jake Gyllenhaal goes full on Jackie Chan in the Trailer for Doug Liman’s ‘Road House’ also starring Conor McGregor Yeah, I never understood that.If you enjoy this, check out 'Flashpoint' or "SPL" for a modern-take on this kind of Donnie Yen picture. For the week that ended on May 20th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment's Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its debut, beating fellow new release Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre from Lionsgate Home . The film is the introduction of Cynthia Khan not only as the new lead protagonist, following Michelle Yeoh, but her debut as an actress. Yen, on the other hand, while a trained actor, was the son of a Tai Chi grandmaster (his mother, Bow-sim Mark), who grew up between Boston and China, and is an award-winning practitioner of practical-use martial arts.

Lucky that three armed cops – one, a Japanese Interpol agent named Peter (Hiroyuki Sanada), one, a female Chinese Inspector named Yip (Michelle Yeoh), and the other a rookie cop in Yip’s task force named Michael (Michael Wong) – are also on board, and together they foil the catastrophe, but not without some casualties.Film’s partnership with him is what caused Mike Leeder and Arne Venema to stop doing business with them.
