Overall, Patterns of Time is a very fun addition to the Legend of Korra universe – especially for fans already familiar with the entire series. For a book that literally says “Join Korra, Asami, Mako, Bolin [and] Tenzin” on the back it sure has zero Mako and Bolin, almost no Asami, and two entire stories focused on Meelo. Patterns in Time" is a pretty apt title, since the common thread running through most of the short stories is cycles and the relationships between one generation and the next. All of these showcase very different characters: How Korra met Naga, how Meelo learned to help others.
