About this deal

There are parts which turned out to be quite emotional as Toryn discovers some truths about the past. This was a really great fantasy book with lots of action in it, which was great because these both elements were perfectly balanced. Since it's the first book of a saga, it is quite introductory. There was lots of information given and sometimes it felt a little confused, but other than that it was very interesting.

The romance might have been my favourite part of this book. There isn't a lot of romance, just small hints sprinkled throughout. It's more a friendship/ deep trust slowly developing into more and it was so well done. So realistic and believable and slow and awkward and I feel like the author pretty much nailed the feel of teenage romance and I loved that! Especially the scene at the end in the dark room, it made me feel so much. Having said that, the romance is a really minor plot, the story and action takes center stage, so don't expect a book filled with romance, but I thought the romance that was there was very well done. Tom and Anne's marriage begins to experience stress as the pregnant Mrs. Wallace has to cope with the sudden instability of her husband. He refuses to see a doctor or admit that he's having any sort of breakdown but rather heightened senses. She remembers Phil telling Tom that is mind was free, absolutely free while he was under hypnosis. This leads Tom to concluding he's functioning as a medium. Taking his wife out on a date, Tom has a premonition that their son is in danger and they return home early to find their babysitter attempting to abduct him. His nocturnal encounters with the woman in his living room continue.

What a bumpy start. I really struggled getting into the book that I must have restarted it 8-12 times. It starts with the world creation and then starts abruptly into the story. This usually is fine in previous books but this really threw me that I had a really hard time getting into the book. Because of this I also had a hard time agreeing with character choices or motives. Elodi, in her new position as the Lady Harlyn and Toryn an outsider where he lives must find a way to fight an enemy that their ancestors barley contained. Blood Echoes does not attempt a comprehensive dissection of Bloodborne ’s lore. It does, however, testify to the game’s enduring power, and attempt to understand the strong magic it exerts to this day. My sincere thanks to the author, Laura Tisdall, who furnished a digital copy for an honest, unbiased review.

It is this condition that leads to Pete de Freitas moving from the upmarket family home and a place at Oxford University into a flat in one of Liverpool’s more insalubrious areas. It was a move that was to change the Bunnymen, marrying one of the country’s more inventive bands with one of its best unknown drummers. Happily, sometimes life works out like that. Sergeant himself says of de Freitas’ first audition “ I have no idea that we have just found one of the world’s most inventive, influential and musical drummers. He will be cited as an influence by countless world-class drummers in the future.”As an avid reader from an early age, I've always enjoyed books (and also the films of my favourite books). Whilst I read a wide range, I tend to lean toward science fiction, fantasy and historical (with a military angle). Tom is repulsed by the dark interior lives lurking beneath everyone's superficial veneer of decency. He is overwhelmed by a recurring apparition of a woman in a dark dress sitting in his living room, which suggests to him that someone in the neighborhood murdered the former occupant of his house. Unfortunately, she read as a very unrealistic female leader. Which is a shame as I really wanted to feel for her as a character and think she has a lot of potential.
