About this deal

The Honor Pad X8 comes with a MediaTek MT8786 CPU, while the Honor Pad X9 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685. The MediaTek chipset was designed for mobile and tablet devices, with Honor claiming that it offers comprehensively higher running speeds than its predecessor, the Honor Pad X7. The Pad X8 can hold its own quite well against similarly priced rivals in benchmarks like Geekbench 5 and the 3D Mark Wild Life test. In Geekbench 5, it’s a bit more powerful than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 and the 3rd generation Lenovo Tab M10. The graphics performance is even significantly higher than the 12-inch Honor Pad 8. However, it’s also clear that it’s not one of the most powerful devices out there, as the benchmarks have shown. You can only play PUBG Mobile with HD graphics – and it runs great. Asphalt 9 also runs with occasional stutters, but the graphics do not look particularly nice here. A 2-megapixel webcam sits right in the center at the front, which does not take detailed pictures. In fact, videos in particular look a bit blurry – still okay for video chats, but not good. Charging and battery life data are collected from HONOR lab tests done under 25°C, 45%-80% relative humidity, using the original

charger and cable. Actual charging speed may vary depending on environmental conditions and other factors. In my battery test, the Honor Pad X8 got a runtime of 6.25 hours – which is a bit meager, especially considering the relatively dark display. For this test, I always run an HD YouTube video in an endless loop. Honor Pad X8 Review: My Conclusion

The resolution is 1200 x 2000, which technically counts as 2K, though its use of LCD tech and 60Hz refresh rate means it’s not the best-looking display around. Simpler games like Angry Birds Friends run well. So, while it’s not a gaming tablet, it’s especially suitable for casual games. Software: Android It feels pretty premium to hold, thanks to the glass material,. However, due to its size, we wouldn’t recommend using it with your hands – better to buy a stand or keyboard accessory and use it propped up on a surface. Honor Pad 8 display So, is the Honor Pad X8 a tablet worth getting? Well, it’s not particularly exciting. Overall, the Honor Pad X8 is a solid tablet – almost all features are solid. But it is not outstanding either.

TÜV Rheinland low blue light certification test conditions: With Eye Protection mode enabled, the screen display passes the TÜV Rheinland low blue light test (excluding the color temperature adjustment portion). The Honor Pad X9 instead comes with a larger 7250mAh battery, suggesting that it will have a higher endurance than its predecessor. We found that it had a surprisingly good battery life, with one episode of Better Call Saul draining it by 6% in a dimly lit room. Things will fluctuate on higher and lower brightness levels and volumes, but we were able to binge a limited series on full charge without needing to reach for the charger. The Honor Pad X9 is more expensive The performance is sufficient in real-world use. Chrome, YouTube, Feedly and even Office apps can be used smoothly – even a bit of multitasking is possible. We also have the 4 GB RAM to thank for that. Unveiled at the annual tech event IFA 2022 in September 2022, the Honor Pad 8 went on sale immediately after. Compared to many other Android tablets on the market, the Honor Tab 8 is pretty large, and you’re certainly not going to be using it one-handed.I think the Xiaomi Redmi Pad, which I also tested, is much more exciting. It often costs just a bit more, but has a metal casing, a 90 Hz display, more storage and better performance.
