About this deal

Some of the writing in this book was pulling at the heartstrings a bit like an excerpt from DS Anguish’s memory of his mother: Dr. Dani Novak told Diesel Kennedy to find someone else 18 months ago. He didn't. She has some serious baggage and was afraid of the depth of the feelings that Diesel awoke in her. Diesel has some heavy baggage of his own, but one look at Dani and he was willing to conquer his past for a future with her - someday. He's a patient guy. It takes two children in need of both Dani and Diesel for these two to get over themselves and realize that they belong together. Question everything - when you think you have this one figured out… think again I know I thought a few time pffft I see what’s happened here… nope… WRONG!!! It was great I love that bring on those twists - twist me up! THE AUTHOR: Fiona Cummins is an award-winning former Daily Mirror showbusiness journalist and a graduate of the Faber Academy Writing A Novel course. She lives in Essex with her family. Published in Australia this week.it is out now. Thanks to MacMillan Australia for my advanced copy of this book to read.⁣

The former focuses on characters originating from Henriad England; the latter's prologue is set in the same era.

Secondly. DON'T let the fact it's book 5 in the series bother you, genuinely you will want to read Books 1-4 after finishing 'Into The Dark', that is guarenteed, but you don't need prior knowledge to be reading the fifth in the Cincinatti series. There was a lot going on in this book and it all came together really well. Dani and Diesel had so much to work out, we had a mystery trying to be unraveled, the killer's thoughts thrown in giving clues that will keep you guessing. And it all worked so well together and added to the intrigue that had me loving this book.

One late autumn morning, Piper’s best friend arrives at Seawings to discover an eerie scene – the kettle is still warm, all the family’s phones are charging on the worktop, the cars are in the garage. But the house is deserted. Thikair plots to develop a bioweapon that will "accidentally" be released in the U.S. to fulfill the original contingency plan. This requires the kidnapping of humans as test subjects, to ensure the bioweapon will serve its purpose of killing every remaining human on Earth. When guerillas in the U.S. and Romania become aware of the Shongairi plot, they manage to save some victims, but the Shongairi use their air supremacy to continue their genocidal mission. The Detective: DS Saul Anguish, brilliant but with a dark past, treads the narrow line between light and shade. The narrative then switches between the weeks and days before the Holden’s disappear and the present. Oh my, this story is full of unreliable narrators and the truth is doled out very sparingly. Every time you think you have a handle on things there is another layer of deceit. Make sure you sitting down so you don’t get dizzy! Out of the Dark is an alien invasion science fiction novel by David Weber released by Tor Books on September 28, 2010.
