Zwar habe ich noch keinen Kriminalroman von Joy Ellis gelesen, doch der Klappentext hat mich sofort neugierig gemacht. I expected the ending extremely early on (as in, within the first 30 minutes), and while it was executed wonderfully - and I truly did enjoy reading it - the storyline itself felt rough and not as well thought-out as the other books. My wife got the standard bacon cheese burger which was also really nice. Still messy and had loads of friends onions in which were really nice. Procedurally it didn’t make sense at points. Whether it’s the difference in The Fens v The States or if it was used as a literary device I couldn’t say. But go with it.The narration was slow so I switched to reading the book instead. (This says quite a bit about me wanting to push through this store to find out what happened next because it’s narrated by my FAVE narrator and I ditched him lol) The fourth season of “Brilliant Friend” is being directed by Laura Bispuri, known for the transgender-themed drama “Sworn Virgin” and for “Daughter of Mine.” Both films starred Rohrwacher and played in Berlin.
The pub itself is very nice. Big and open with a high ceiling, and the women working was very pleasant. What I love about Ellis is you tend to root for all the characters. This is key because I got really mad towards the end … and then while sorting my thoughts on it I felt like I crashed head first into the ending.When something terrible happened, there was always more than one victim. Disaster had a ripple effect., like a pebble thrown into a lake, drawing in many more people than those directly involved." Perfect for fans of Rachel Abbott, Sarah A. Denzil, Robert Bryndza, Mel Sherratt, Angela Marsons, Colin Dexter, or Ruth Rendell. Opening with a exhilarating,breath taking epilogue and having a sad,heart breaking ending this is a well written police procedural that has a hint of the supernatural to it.Although I enjoyed this book I didn't think it was as gripping as Their Lost Daughters.I thought it was too obvious who was Behind both the stalking of Superintendent Ruth Crooke`s niece and the disappearance of Suzanne Holland.Nothing unexpected happened,there where no jaw dropping twists or revelations.I think that the Cannon family angle could have been incorporated into the story more and used to add more intregue and threat to the story. I did however learn some interesting facts about blood splatter and brain injuries. Do I even have to bother mentioning how amazing Richard Armitage is at this point? His array of voices are incredible – even his female voices are impressive and his ‘old people’ voices are jaw dropping. Best voice actor I’ve heard on Audible, and that’s quite the compliment.
I had the 'Karate kid' which was beef, bacon, American cheese, deep fried goats cheese and chilli jam. I'm very glad I decided not to go for the double burger as it was difficult enough to eat as it was!Good patty. Lovely well cooked bacon. Really good deep fried goats cheese and a crazy amount of sweet chilli sauce! All in a really fresh soft bun.Uve Teschner verleiht durch seine Stimme dem Hörbuch noch mehr Spannung und unterstreicht die Charakterzüge der einzelnen Protagonisten gekonnt.
