Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve said: ‘Like many fans, I remember the Johnnie Walker bottle from the first film, so it was a unique privilege to collaborate with Johnnie Walker on designing a totally original, custom bottle for the new movie.’ Although the film is still beset with post-production issues, Pitlochry distillery Edradour has already released a 15-year-old bottling adorned with the film’s iconography. Aged for eight years in ex-Bourbon casks and seven years in oloroso Sherry casks, thelimited edition whisky was released in a fit of optimism in 2014, while the film was still being shot. Despite feeling like its been around for a very long time, Johnie Walker's premium blend has only been around since the early 90s. 10. Johnnie Walker has appeared in many classic films, including the original Blade Runner Picture: Mike Wilkinson. The 2049 bottle wasdesigned by creative agency Love (who claim they had been suggesting the brand take advantage of their attachment to Blade Runner for years before the sequel came along) and features in a key scene in the film. So now dear Blade Runner fans, not only can you buy the exact same beautiful heavy weight glasses, but the exact whisky too.

Alexander created the brand at the start of the 20th century to be enjoyed as a long serve with a mixer, either soda or ginger ale at that time. 8. Famous drinkers of Johnnie Walker have included Winston Churchill I watch Blade Runner 2 or 3 times a year, it’s one of my favorite movies. The mood and ambiance are unique and I always wanted to “be there” in a certain way. More than the story itself, I’m in love with the atmosphere and as a mortal I will not be able to live in that kind of future. From my point of view, that’s where virtual reality has a huge potential. Now, 3D artists have wonderful tools to recreate a world. I use these tools to recreate worlds that I like”. Last year’s Bond parody sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle spawned not one, but two whisky spin-offs. To match the refined sophistication of the Kingsman agents, GlenDronach distillery partnered with film studio 20th Century Fox to bottle a 1991 Sherry cask-matured GlenDronach. Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn chose the vintageas it reflects the birth year of the film’s protagonist, Eggsy. A bit stronger than the pedestrian JWB, and you can taste a little more citrus in this one. 49% brings the alcohol level above JWB, as previously mentioned, but the bite is forgivable; you'd expect a bump from 80% to 89% from interesting to torturous. Not so. Diet Coke or sour mix to alleviate the smooth burn is a bad idea. Sipping this, with some almonds and a Cubano means the day ended right.

5. The square bottle was introduced early on in the brand's life

The Blade Runner whisky glass is made from hand blown crystal glass by the original Italian company since 1974. These heavyweight Cibi stunning glasses command respect. Designed by Cini Boeri, made by Arnolfo di Cambio, and tried and tested (a little too frequently) by Film and Furniture.

For those in the dark, Final Fantasy is neither a film nor TV show: it’s a long-running series of video games, spanning 30 years and 15 iterations so far. Whatever the century, whatever the universe, Johnnie Walker's commitment to the spirit of human progress endures. As we toast to the future, the makers of Johnnie Walker remind you to enjoy your whisky responsibly. Because Harrison Ford and Sean Young were rumored to have been less than cordial with each other. I have no idea if this rumor is true, but the hot scene works very well on many levels. It’s like “make up sex” on the first date.Johnnie Walker is the world's number one Scotch Whisky brand, enjoyed by people in over 180 countries around the world. Since the time of its founder, John Walker, those who blend its whiskies have pursued flavour and quality above else. John sourced spirits like gin, brandy rum and Scotch as well as more exotic products such as tea from China and pepper from Jamaica from as early as the 1820s. Johnnie Walker have released a one-off whisky blend in a distinctive, futuristic-shaped bottle in honour of the highly anticipated Blade Runner 2049 film. The new whisky, we can confirm, will appear in the new Sci-Fi movie. Their logo of the striding man was drawn by Tom Browne of Punch Magazine. He first drew the man, based on a London Dandy, in 1908, but it wasn't until the 1950's that he was emblazoned upon bottles of Johnnie Walker. Before this, he could only been seen on adverts. Johnnie Walker has many famous fans. Film franchises often transition from the big screen into our everyday lives, as Happy Meals, or Lego sets, even onto clothing. But an increasing number of films, TV shows and even games are sneaking into our homes as bottles of whisky. These same glasses also make a star appearance in Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities – The Viewing episode. The new expression was created by Johnnie Walker master blender Jim Beveridge with the film’s director, Denis Villeneuve, with one eye on how whiskies of the future might taste. Johnnie Walker describe the new blend as having “our trademark smokiness and a contemporary twist… with sweet fruity vanilla flavours and is bottled at 49% ABV for added intensity” and as a nod to the date the film is set, no doubt. Scotland's best selling whisky, with sales of 9-litre cases topping 18m last year, has a long and illustrious history. I love Scotch, Scotchy Scotch Scotch’ famously claimed Channel 4’s Ron Burgundy in Anchorman’s opening scene. The tie-in whisky, created to promote the sequel Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, is a blend from Old St. Andrewsusing Speyside, Highlandand Islay whiskies. Named for one of Burgundy’s many mythology-inspired euphemisms (‘By the beard of Zeus!’ is another favourite), the whisky has since been discontinued.
