About this deal

Focusing that detail upon the interior has detracted attention from the exterior, which appears comparatively bland. However, the austere entrance looks great and the textured walls seem reasonable because the original structure is constructed from roughly-hewn stone. Improved detail would have been appreciated though, perhaps including the base of the roof above the mismatched walls. Beneath the sign is a sentence in Norwegian “velkommen til Tønsberg” which means “Welcome to Tønsberg“, a small village located in Norway which housed the Tesseract for decades, and is the location of New Asgard – a new settlement of Asgardians following the destruction of their planet. And yes, why use a pizza cutter when you can use Stormbreaker. Not only does it cut Titan heads off, it also cuts pizza neatly! LEGO components are dropped, heated, crushed, twisted and analysed to make sure they fulfil rigorous global safety standards. The LEGO 76200 Bro Thor’s New Asgard is one of the many sets of the LEGO Super Heroes theme. Features

This is going to be one of the most-popular and best-selling Marvel sets of 2021 as it strikes the perfect balance between accessibility due to its size and price, and also the inclusion of fan favourite characters like Korg. The star of the set is of course Bro Thor, who stole the New Asgard scene, when it was revealed that the Asgardian God of Thunder, just let himself completely go, and turned flabby over a diet of beer and pizza. Keepability [5]– This will be a great set to hold, because of the novelty of the characters and overall concept. I cannot see Bro Thor showing up in any other set I have to pinch myself that this is not just an actual set, but LEGO also manage to sneak in a keg of beer. His shirt has what I think are red hibiscus flowers and leaves on them, which is slightly inaccurate as the movie version has pineapples on them. All LEGO Marvel building toys provide young super heroes with premium-quality playsets designed to deliver endless imaginative play possibilities.

Despite all this, however, take away the source material for comparison and this minifigures is wonderfully unique in it’s design, and, if I’m being honest, I still love it. Miek (the scissor alien dude) is in his larval form is technically not a minifig, but we’ll let him hang as he’s cool. Overall, Bro Thor’s New Asgard is an incredible set for it’s price-range and pieces number, you get a lot of fantastic design for your money with this one. Somewhat unusually for a LEGO set, the instructions have you place a number of things at odd angles off of single studs, including a pizza box, newspaper, a picture from Thor’s more victorious past, and the TV set.

Details

Will end this review with a match-made-in-heaven mashup of Bro Thor and Korg, hanging out in Joey and Chandler’s apartment! Anyway. Once the walls are up, the rest of the set dressing can happen. There are tons of little things to catch your eye, ranging from a dark blue micro-fig trophy (that in my head-cannon is a Captain America action figure), a pitchfork, a model ship, an oar, and a wealth of bottles and pizza boxes. This is probably one of my favourite small sets in 2021, and will truly delight and satisfy LEGO Marvel Super Heroes fans. It’s incredulous that LEGO actually turned the New Asgard scene into the set, AND gave us a Bro Thor minifigure with his belly and all.

LEGO components satisfy stringent industry quality standards to ensure they are consistent, compatible and connect and pull apart correctly every time – it’s been that way since 1958. Thanks to a certified Australian LEGO Store we finally have official images and details for a new LEGO Marvel Infinity Saga set aptly named Bro Thor’s New Asgard (76200). Bro Thor is the highlight of the set for me. He has a new dual-sided print for his torso, and an exclusive leg print. His face and hair are new for 2021, matching Thor’s appearance in other Infinity Saga sets. Thor's messy home contains numerous intriguing curios and the model undoubtedly captures this chaotic environment. The balance between earthy shades and more vibrant colours looks superb and I think its size seems reasonable, comfortably accommodating the minifigures and various significant details which are present during the movie. The fireplace is almost completely concealed, between the keg and a chest containing several trans-clear bottles and a fish. However, the trans-orange flames look splendid and I like this air conditioning unit too, under a photograph of Thor, Valkyrie, Korg and Miek during happier times. This wall also features a clip for attaching Stormbreaker, efficiently using every available space. The exterior of the home isn’t neglected, either. The door has a small stone stoop with round tile “stones” adding texture. Bro Thor's New Asgard represents an extraordinary departure from usual Marvel Super Heroes models, completely embracing the humour which has appeared throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The minifigures are therefore excellent, closely resembling their onscreen counterparts but for Thor's inappropriately cheerful expression.

Speaking of Stormbreaker, that’s also included in the set with the same build as its other appearances, such as in 76193 The Guardians’ Ship and 76192 Avengers: Endgame Final Battle. Its position in the corner makes it hard for Thor to carelessly pop caps off bottles with it like he does in the movie, but you can create your own scenes with it. Super Heroes sets traditionally prioritise action and conflict. 76200 Bro Thor's New Asgard has abandoned that convention though, containing Thor alongside Korg and Miek! These delightful characters maintain notable popularity and the minifigures appear impressive. Real Value [4]– Sets at this price point are rare, and even rarer for it to feel like LEGO didn’t cut cornersNoobmaster, hey, it’s Thor again. You know, the God of Thunder? Listen, buddy, if you don’t log off this game immediately, I am gonna fly over to your house, come down to that basement you’re hiding in, rip off your arms and shove them up your butt! Oh, that’s right, yes, go cry to your father, you little weasel!” There's a massive cultural difference between American and European views on alcohol. In Denmark you can buy yourself a beer aged 16. Exposing children to alcohol is really not as big a deal as in the US. I can't see how depicting beer in a set (in a way that doesn't explicitly say it is beer) could be equated with changing policy on military vehicles?
