About this deal

When an Aeldari Guardian dons his "war mask," his former life is supplanted by the thrill of battle. Thoughts of peace and tranquility are replaced with the desire to destroy his foes and secure glorious victory. Where once the dulcet tones of a star-harp would stir the Aeldari's spirit, at war the wailing song of the Shuriken Catapult and the blast of grenades are the sounds that set their heart racing.

Clad in psycho-reactive Mesh Armour and armed with lethal Shuriken weaponry, the Guardians of the Craftworld Aeldari armies are able warriors all. Gifted with the natural speed of the Aeldari and the determination to preserve their craftworld no matter the cost, the Guardians are more than a match for the soldiery of the "lesser races." Aeldari warriors emulate the various warlike aspects of Khaela Mensha Khaine in battle, but each Craftworld holds a terrible secret in its heart. There is a chamber which contains an Avatar of Khaine, a molten metal statue which contains a still-living shard of the defeated warrior god. In times of war, this shard is awakened and set aflame. This colossus of battle bestrides the battlefield, a living god that scythes down its foes by the score. Wraithlord On some craftworlds, Ulthwé foremost amongst them, the Guardians are the most common of all Aeldari warriors. As the number of dedicated, professional Aeldari troops -- the Aspect Warriors -- in a craftworld are simply too few to meet all threats, those Aeldari dedicated to a civilian Asuryani Path serve as Guardians in battle, forming the bulk of the Craftworlder Aeldari armies. Meanwhile, the poses themselves are much more dynamic — although not nearly as acrobatic as the figures included in last year’s Drukhari release. Harlequins must be used with even more precision – they’re faster and deadlier yet as they caper across the warzone, but their only real armour is surprise. After many failed attempts to mount a giant sword onto their grav platforms, the Storm Guardians have finally hit upon a solution. By replacing the heavy weapon with a powerful shield generator, these squads can sprint across the battlefield safe in the embrace of a glowing force field. Warhammer Community: New! Plastic! Aeldari Guardians! (originally posted 03/01/2022) (last accessed 28th September 2023)

All Guardians are trained to take and hold objectives, freeing up the skilful Aspect Warriors – like the grim Dark Reapers – to unleash Khaine’s wrath on the enemy. In fact, while they’re defending these objectives, both varieties get a neat bonus to help them drive off the warriors of lesser civilisations. The article also shows the first Eldar Detachment for 10th edition, the Battle-Host. This has a very simple army rule, granting each unit in your force one re-roll to hit and one re-roll to wound every time it shoots or fights. We also get to see the Fire and Fade Stratagem, which for 2CP allows a non-aircraft unit that isn’t engaged to move after it shoots. It can’t charge later in the turn, but this could be a powerful tool to move a unit into cover, or forward onto an objective. If the enemy closes in on their position, the Guardians will unleash a withering hail of fire from their Shuriken Catapults, moving steadily to safety all the while. When the Farseers and Autarchs of a craftworld deploy Guardian Defender squads, they do so knowing that they are risking the lifeblood of their people. Added range and a guaranteed AP are pretty nice. It might not seem insane right up front, but a buff to weapons and save at once can be really strong. As they can get -3 AP as well.Even Aeldari engines of war are swift and agile, including tanks like the Fire Prism , which uses an intricate crystalline matrix to focus energy into either destructive pinpoint spears of light that can pierce the most formidable armour or deadly blasts that can obliterate hordes of armoured infantry.
