Steel & Other Metals : If Steampunk, or just plan old rustic is your style, you can use just a simple steel sheet. A similar design can work with both aluminum or copper, depending on your budget and intended design. You can also go with a plastic baseboard. It’s relatively light, so you can easily hang it off your wall. But, the type of plastic you choose must be strong enough to hold everything. For that, acrylic can be a good candidate. It is durable, and you can easily drill holes in it.

As mentioned, the most popular out-of-the-box solution for this is to buy the Thermaltake P3 or P5. If this isn’t what you had in mind, you have plenty of custom options. What if I don’t want to buy a premade case? Generally, studs are spaced 16 or 24 inches apart. Use a stud detector to find the distance between studs at your mounting location, and plan for this distance in your layout. Wait, how do I turn the computer on? And what about my USB ports? Overall, everyone is a fan of how wall-mounted setups, which is definitely one of their biggest advantages of them. Better Cooling And Airflow Most buyers have been quite satisfied with this unit. They have said that the overall design and feel of the case are very much what they were expecting. Some, however, had quite some difficulty assembling the overall case together. Once they got that out of the way, they loved it! It is a well-built stainless steel unit with a 6U cabinet with vented sides to keep your equipment cool. It has fully adjustable rails and comes with built-in square holes for easy mounting of equipment. It is also one of the few cases with removable top and bottom panels for a streamlined and stylish appearance, which makes it stand out.Last but not least, you can go for a creative way to show off your cables. You can use RGB cables and build a themed PC rig where the cables are a part of the theme. Test Everything This is a great computer case for offices and hi-tech computer users. It is cost-effective, and its affordability with its amazing functions makes it a great case for your system. Its cooling vents even make it a good case for gamers out there that spend hours using their computers. This PC mounting wall is perfect for people who do not want to keep their PC on the floor due to dust accumulation in their houses. It is also a good product for people who do not like to keep a lot of things on the floor near their computer and have crawling babies around. Most of your components attach to the central motherboard tray, which has room for two ATX PSUs and supports a wide range of motherboard form factors from the large (SSI EEB) to the small (Mini-ITX). If you want to wall-mount a dual-CPU workstation, this is one of the few cases that’ll let you do it.

In a custom wall-mounted computers, you must select a good baseboard material. It is the most important part because it holds everything together and ensures your PC doesn’t fall off.Graphic cards are a different beast but again we'd be wary of mounting a graphics card with a TDP over 200W, as load temperatures can start reaching the 80ºC level. When it comes to the rest of the components, temperature won't be an issue. The only curve ball is when you come to fixing the power supply. Through some oddity of design it's often the only part that requires the alternative US-based standard 6-32 UTS or Universal Thread Standard screws (you're not the only ones around here who read Wikipedia you know). These are the case screws with the coarser thread. If you’re using a case designed for wall-mounted PCs, you may need extra standoffs or you could have to fabricate a few parts on the fly. With existing systems, the main thing to consider when planning your setup is ventilation, port access, and cable management which affects any type of wall-mounted PC case. Cable Management But wall-mounted PCs can get pricey and require tons of planning and attention to detail to make them look like a work of art. Currently, the only mass-produced cases that come wall-mountable are from Thermaltake’s P line. These cases are beautiful but come with a relatively hefty price tag for a case that comes with no RGB lighting or fans. Sure, you don’t need the fans because the case is open air, but it’s about the principle that you’re paying a lot more for a case that is made out of far less physical materials.

The most critical part of running a wall-mounted rig is ensuring you have the correct mounting hardware. While all of our cases will attach to any VESA mounts, most monitor VESA mounts aren’t designed to handle loads as heavy as a whole gaming rig.

The fact of the matter is we're also going to leave clear air between components and the Perspex, so there's no chance of the Perspex meeting this type of temperature. But it's best to play out the worse case scenario here. Once you have built and hung your PC off the wall, at the very least, it will be quite inconvenient to maintain. All of this is extremely hard to clean, and you will have to clean it quite often. If that isn’t enough, replacing components on a wall-mounted setup is also a huge headache.

When selecting a custom base size for your PC, remember larger dimensions are needed to allow space for the screws to drill into the wall if you are going from a front-mounted approach.

Wall-Mounted PC Cases

We’ll let you go through this process yourself, but here are the biggest factors you should b considering outside of the dimensions of your main components: Next up, start assembling your PC. You can begin by screwing in the motherboard and then the power supply and the GPU. Remember, you might need to use extra cables and screws depending on your layout. If you want to liquid-cool your PC, then this is the step where you finalize all the tubing. You can also hide the cables inside the wall. This is the most complex solution, but it is also the best one. This way, all your cables will be completely hidden, and your PC will look absolutely gorgeous hanging on the wall. However, it is extremely difficult for novice users to pull off. When laying out your PC components, make sure to consider cable management. You’ll need a riser cable for the GPU, and for other cables, you can hide them behind the baseboard. You can also attach a second baseboard for those cables.
