About this deal

Finally, I'm no Nicholas Sparks fan who wants every story tied up in a nice little bow, but the ending was a real drag. I saw it coming a mile away, for one thing, and the way Addie treated herself caused me to lose respect for her. The best that could do for readers is remind them of how important it is to pay attention to symptoms, but I was looking for a good read, not a depressing medical lesson. Eva Dolan’s Zigic and Ferreira series is one of the best, most authentic police series out there but This Is How It Ends enters a whole new league of subtle brilliance that defies explanation in any kind of review – things to note though are the beautifully immersive writing, the insightful and deeply layered characters and the ability to recreate the world we are living in without need for filter or fuss. Socially relevant, entertaining yes but also utterly genuine and just getting you right in the heart. Molly is a tenant and former big league activist in her own right, past her corporate-fighting days, she’s now a top class photographer content to sit on the sidelines, capturing key moments of rallies, movements, celebrations, and heartbreak to ensure the public eye isn’t tainted by political spin. Before you ask- how can you possibly read novels on school shootings? Don’t you work in a high school? People who read about murders and murderers know there is danger in the world- it is your opinion if you want to be prepared for it and understand it (as best you can) or if you want to be surprised by it and dwell in ignorance for as long as possible. That is my opinion). I am at a loss for words with this novel. It literally took me three hours to read, because it was so gripping and suspenseful, I did not want to stop reading it, not even once.

I think if I will be columnist, has long had me fired because I finished this book a long time ago and I'm just writing this review, but it's not always easy to put the words and I know several. An enjoyable crime drama that demands your attention, focusing on people’s actions rather than the crime itself. Riley and his friends are gearing up for their senior year by spending one last night hanging out in the woods, drinking a few beers, and playing Truth or Dare. But what starts out as a good time turns sinister when they find a mysterious pair of binoculars. Those who dare to look through them see strange visions, which they brush off as hallucinations. Why else would Riley see himself in bed with his best friend’s girlfriend—a girl he’s had a secret crush on for years?I can’t even begin to describe the whirlwind that is in my head and heart after finishing this book. A complete and utter silence descended upon me the second I finished it. I was numb. I was speechless. I was heartbroken. I was angry. I was relieved that I was never forced to live a tragedy like the one described in this book. The next day Tom's lung collapses, so Will has to perform a needle thoracostomy. Sensing Tom will die without medical help, they bond, and Will finally feels that Tom approves of him and Sam. On a bridge, they encounter a gang of armed men on motorcycles. They work together to evade the gang, but Tom succumbs to his wounds. The car breaks down, and Will burns it so he does not have to leave Tom's body to rot. Will continues the journey on foot. Speaking of the town, it’s also small. Like under 7,000 people. Do you really think a single gunman type of school shooting would last for 54 minutes? In 2015? Where nearly every child is going to have a cell phone handy and be able to call the local po-po??? THE BLURB: Ella Riordan is a community activist who became famous when she was beaten by police during a social protest. Now Ella is a squatter in a building where the owners are evicting tenants so they can convert it into luxury condos, and she’s determined to stay and defend the few holdout tenants, despite death threats. It is only as these two characters develop that the reader slowly gets an insight into what motivates them. And while I never completely got my head around Bruno’s obsession with the election, I did get a much better appreciation of what was driving Addie and her reasons for being who and what she is.

Audible UK finally got the audible plus catalogue, so at last I have access to amazing short stories like this without using a credit 🙌 This book is a travesty. This book is, quite frankly, an insult to all the victims, direct and indirect, of school shootings. School shootings are a fairly new epidemic, one of the most well-known being Columbine. It is also a morbidly intriguing one; the psychology of the people that committed said acts are deeply complex, and not to be taken lightly in exploration. Stream It Or Skip It: 'Christmas at the Chalet' on Lifetime, Where Divorcée Teri Hatcher Explores Love, Purpose, and Skiing in Aspen

A heartbreaking love story, set against the dramatic backdrop of Obama's election and the global financial crisis.

The book drags on and on with side stories of Hugh's early life, Bruno's past and other narratives that don't really serve much purpose. I think this might be a classic case of an author who tries to write a story that's bigger than their ability to tell and trying to incorporate too much without any rhyme or reason to it." Addie is 39, an architect in Ireland, out of work and at a loose end as the roar of the celtic tiger is abruptly silenced at the start of the "economic downturn", in 2008. Bruno, an unemployed american banker, visits Ireland in the shadow of the Lehman Brothers' collapse, in a long overdue pilgrimage to find his roots and honour his dead father. He is also preoccupied with political events in America. Will Obama succeed? Will Bruno bother to go home if he doesn't? This book was emotionally manipulative because it was telling me what to think or feel about the scenario instead of allowing me an eye into the character's minds and experiences of the peril they were in. Same with trying to understand WHY Tyler snapped the way he did.
