About this deal

Carrie witnessed as Margaret agonized to her death, and screamed in terror over her loss. Carrie's powers then manifested on the loose, bringing the house down over her. Carrie rushes to her closet, carrying her mother and stayed there as the house came down, dying. This is the only adaptation of the novel to add a direct confrontation scene between Chris and Carrie before the prom. One day after P.E. class, Carrie gets confronted by her classmates and gets her first period. Unaware of this, Carrie believed she was bleeding to death and asked for help from the other girls.

Tranquil Fury: Patricia Clarkson portrays Margaret White this way, in contrast to Piper Laurie's Large Ham in the original. Dream Projection : It is uncertain of, but in at least the original and 2013 films, Sue experienced a nightmare in which Carrie's arm is seen, either reaching out from the ground to grab her or from inside her body. This may also have just been the result of Sue's experience from the night of the prom, but this is unknown. In an alternate ending, we see Sue giving birth to the baby mentioned by Carrie. But instead of a baby, a blood-covered arm comes out (Carrie's?). Sue wakes up screaming revealing that the arm was her mother's.In preparation for her role, Sissy Spacek isolated herself from the rest of the ensemble, decorated her dressing room with heavy religious iconography and studied Gustave Doré's illustrated Bible. She studied "the body language of people being stoned for their sins", starting or ending every scene in one of those positions. When Billy sees Carrie out on the road and decides to run her over, Chris screams at him to stop. She wanted Carrie humiliated, not turned into roadkill. She did think this in the book, but did nothing to stop Billy. Knowing she was responsible for what had happened to Ewen High and downtown Chamberlain, Billy tried to run Carrie down with his car to kill her. However, Carrie felt the car approaching and wrestled the oncoming vehicle with her telekinesis and violently slammed it full force into the roadhouse. Billy's nose was broken and his torso was crushed into the steering wheel. Chris was immediately thrown face-first into the dashboard, busting the glass windshield. The car exploded, killing both Chris and Billy instantly and also destroying the building, starting yet another major fire that burned all through the parking lot. When Tommy asks her if they want to vote for themselves, Carrie is unimpressed. George and Erika leave the two to dance and while Tommy wants to follow them, Carrie is scared to be in the center of attention. Tommy tells her, he wants at least one dance with her. Carrie gives in and dances with him. She feels amazing, as if her whole life has led to this moment. Later, she and Tommy win the election and Carrie is handed flowers while George and Erika cheer them on.

Survivor's Guilt: Miss Desjardin has this after the night of the prom. Averted with the other survivors, especially Norma. Comfort Food: The investigators offer donuts to the people they're interrogating. Sue doesn't touch them, Norma dives in casually, and Miss Desjardin tears apart a donut with her fingers with a stressed expression. The younger Carrie was played by Jodelle Ferland who causes a rain of fiery stones to fall out of the sky like in the novel. This version of the character in general was more similar to the novel than Sissy Spacek's portrayal.Carrie was raised isolated from society by her single mother after her father Ralph White left them for another woman.

A gym class scene that precedes the shower incident (though it was volleyball in the first film). The present day Carrie story opened with the girls showering in the book, and the sequence of Carrie losing a game for her team and Chris taunting her come straight from the 1976 film. Sue places a white rose on Carrie's grave in the remake, this is possibly hinting to Sue thinking that Carrie was truly innocent and that if the period incident never happened, Carrie wouldn't have the thought to kill them all. As in the previous adaptation, Mr. Morton gets combined with Mr. Grayle to become the principal instead of the vice principal. At 1:39:59 in this alternate ending, there is a 'hidden' frame with Carrie, still in her prom dress, covered in blood, holding Sue's baby.If You Ever Do Anything to Hurt Her...: Miss Desjardin finds Tommy at the prom and warns him that if Carrie doesn't have the night of her life, she'll see to it that he's expelled. It's no wonder that after the prank happens, he tosses down his prom crown in anger. Miss Desjardin: I want you all to know what you did on Friday was a really nasty thing. Did you stop to think that Carrie White might have feelings? Do any of you ever stop to think?! Sue? Helen? Tina? Oh, you think she's ugly, don't you? Well, you're ugly. I saw just how ugly all of you are Friday morning! In the 2013 film adaptation, when Carrie tells Sue that her baby is a girl (conceived by both Sue and Tommy Ross) and saves her life from the destruction of her house, it is possible that Carrie now treats Sue as a friend. Tina Blake. While she is one of Chris's friends in the book, she isn't as big a bully and she isn't in on the prank, which she is in the film. Additionally, she becomes a bit of a ditz, while she didn't have much of a personality in the book. Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Inverted with Helen. She starts off seemingly as another one of the bullies, but she soon warms to Carrie and tries to stop the blood being poured.

Helen Shyres gets combined with Frieda Jason from the book - so she gets Frieda's scene where she's nice to Carrie at the prom. Carrie in this version is more similar to the book, but in modern terms. At the beginning of the film, Carrie has her first period in the showers and is harassed by Chris and her gang. Chris also films Carrie with her phone while the other girls throw tampons and sanitary napkins at Carrie. Ms. Desjardin tries to calm Carrie down and a light fixture breaks by itself. Levitation: Carrie was able to levitate and even glide out of the school. She telekinetically lifted off the ground.Post-prom events are shuffled. After killing most of her graduating class, Carrie stumbles bloody and barefoot out of the school, and follows Chris and Billy as they try to escape. She uses her powers to send their vehicle into gruesome collisions that kill them both. Then, she goes home to seek comfort from her mother, which of course doesn't go well. After Carrie has murdered Margaret, Sue stumbles in and Carrie asks her--with her mouth--why she had to get involved. Then, she telekinetically throws Sue free of the White home, and collapses it onto herself. Tommy and Carrie win when the ballots are rigged. In the book it's a tie and they win in a run-off ballot. To She's All That where Tommy remarks that because Freddie Prinze, Jr. turned "a supermodel, but we're not supposed to notice because she's wearing glasses" into a Prom Queen is notably similar to Sue's request that Tommy take Carrie to prom. Bonus points for Carrie outright mentioning Pygmalion and My Fair Lady, of which She's All That is a modernisation. Never Found the Body: In a Description Cut, the investigators say this about Carrie, interspersed with a scene of Sue bringing food to Carrie in hiding, and new clothes to disguise herself.
