About this deal

Allarus w/ Castellan Axe & Misericordia: 3x Balistus Grenade Launcher, 3x Castellan Axe, 3x Misericordia If you are playing on extremely open boards with a minimum of obscuring/dense terrain, a Shadowsun-based army can potentially have some legs- she still brings a large amount of raw firepower to the table and if you are able to leverage that consistently it is possible to make good use of her. Final Thoughts Kor'sarro Khan has brought nearly a score of hunts to a successful conclusion over his years as Master of the Hunt, beginning with his first such victory on the 3rd moon of the gas giant Mai IX. Some of the White Scars' greatest foes, such as the Daemon Prince Kernax Voldorius and the Eldar Corsair Varaliel, had evaded previous Masters of the Hunt only to have their heads severed by Kor'sarro's blade. His other targets have included the Daemon Prince known as Doomrider, and the Chaos Lord Paramyx of the Blighted Claw warband of Chaos Space Marines, who barely escaped with his life during the daemonic invasion of the Agri-world of Gehöft.

However it was at Mu'gulath Bay that Shadowsun encountered Kor'sarro Khan of the White Scars Space Marines, who inflicted horrendous casualties upon her command staff and drove the normally calm Tau Commander into a fury. In her rage and overconfidence, Shadowsun led an offensive that resulted in a stinging T'au defeat. Having barely escaped the Imperial ambush with her life, thanks only to the brave sacrifice of her personal retinue, Shadowsun swore to redouble her efforts in the campaigns of the Third Sphere Expansion. The Tau were at a slight advantage after Mu'gulath Bay and Voltoris, for the Imperium had transferred much of Prefectia's garrison to wage these campaigns. Surprisingly, Imperial officials were in many ways glad at the Tau decision to not steer further towards Dovaris, and settled in for a new round of fighting. [1a] Opening Moves In the enforced absence of Lord Helmawr, his heirs have started to disappear at an alarming rate. These mysterious deaths stopped at Lady Haera, his 13th trueborn daughter, which we’re sure is a complete coincidence with which she had nothing to do.Nachmund hits its stride this week with two big events in the UK, and despite the warzone theoretically being a battleground between the forces of the Imperium and Chaos, it’s the latest Xenos challenger making all the headlines. Tau are here, legal at all three of the weekend’s events, and it looks like they mean business – as we’ll be seeing right out of the gate. Kor'sarro Khan after crossing the Rubicon Primaris and becoming a Primaris Marine. He now possesses the Psyber Berkut Anzuq. Kor'sarro Khan stood amongst the most lauded heroes of the Imperium. As direct and unyielding as a well-forged blade, the Khan is a warrior of violent determination with no time for the niceties of diplomacy or courtly manners. He is a master huntsman whose every thought is bent toward decapitating his oath-sworn prey. I experimented a bit with the face, using small strokes to place the highlights instead of thoroughly layered areas, it sort of worked and was fun so I might try and work on it a bit in future models. When I was working with Fenrisian and Kislev there were a few intermediate mixes between the two, I did not use straight up Kislev as that is a bit too intense. Don’t worry about proportions too much, it’s mostly what looks right for the particular model with details like this. Commander Shadowsun illuminates one of the major problems with the Tau codex- even the “good” units in it simply don’t function for the most part in 9th Edition, because they are attempting to play a version of the game that no longer exists. 9E is all about scoring, mobility, and resilience, and Shadowsun and her friends simply cannot compete in those arenas in any meaningful way. It isn’t even that she is one-dimensional, as she actually has a wide variety of abilities to support various playstyles, but none of the things she does can be followed through to a successful game plan in most cases, so she ends up being just another disappointing shelf weight.

An overwhelming volley of Gauss Weapons fire destroyed the White Scars' Thunderhawks moments after they landed, leaving Khan and his battle-brothers to fight a bold, but doomed, series of hit-and-run battles. Almost all of the White Scars were slain on the Uzme Plateau, but Zahndrekh commanded that Kor'sarro Khan be spared and imprisoned. So did Kor'sarro begin a peculiar period of captivity beneath the surface of Cano'var. Another such battle was for the Third Moon of Woebetide where, as a Scout Marine many solar decades previously, Kor'sarro fought the Warp entities known as Enslavers. Shortly after setting the foundations of the Farsight Enclaves, O'Shovah announced his intention to leave its Elemental Council and go into a self-imposed exile. Judging himself as unworthy and having seen too much during the experience on Arthas Moloch, Farsight left administration of the Enclaves to The Eight and left to wander the wastelands of Vior'los. He abandoned his Battlesuit and the Dawnblade, which were both kept to be studied by O'Vesa. Farsight's decision to exile himself is what ultimately saved him from corruption by the Chaos Gods Khorne and Tzeentch, which had begun their ploy to corrupt his soul on Arthas Moloch. [12]

Crisis Shas’vre [50pts]: Plasma Rifle [5pts], Cyclic Ion Blaster [10pts], Early Warning Override, T’au Flamer [5pts] Michael Costello – Deathwatch: Michael puts in a fantastic performance with the latest iteration of his Kill Team Strike Force build. The list includes three big, nasty Proteus teams as the core, then a dakka-heavy Aquila Indomitor team to hose down things like Crusher Stampede nasties, and a new addition of a Spectrus team, which adds a bit of flexibility and some more first turn charge potential when dealing with super-deadly shooting armies like Tau. Few things are as terrifying in a confined space as a Phoenix Lord. Jain Zar leads Boarding Patrol: Aeldari accompanied by five Howling Banshees, as well as 20 Corsair Voidscarred who can be assembled as any one of two different units. Boarding Patrol: Drukhari During 8th Edition many Tau armies leaned on Shadowsun to provide the center of a firebase; with two Kauyon activations giving full rerolls to mitigate the army’s weak ballistic skill, you could put out a large number of accurate shots (from Broadsides or Riptides, typically) and annihilate enemy forces on the first couple of turns of the game, then move forward to claim objectives and take over in the latter turns. That game plan is no longer viable, however, for a number of reasons. The shorter game length, the removal of kill-based scoring, the altered secondary objectives, the new terrain rules, and the enhanced resilience of many modern armies all mean that it simply is not a reasonable expectation to follow this sort of plan, as it puts the Tau player too far behind on scoring and is too vulnerable to disruption. In our How to Paint Everything series, we take a look at different armies of the Warhammer universe, examine their history and heraldry, and look at several different methods for painting them. In this article we take a look at O’Shaserra, better known as Commander Shadowsun, one of the recent models to come out of the Psychic Awakening saga. Who Is Shadowsun? Shadowsun Credit: Games Workshop In 999.M41, over the course of the war for Agrellan, Kor'sarro Khan swore a blood oath to take the head of Commander Shadowsun, the T'au Commander who served as supreme commander of the T'au Empire Third Sphere Expansion's primary expeditionary force. His hunt was remorseless, turning the speed and aggression of the White Scars to the solitary goal of destroying the mastermind behind the T'au's war machine. Since the formation of the Great Rift, Shadowsun has been issued an upgraded XV22 Stalker Battlesuit equipped with twin Fusion Blasters and is accompanied by an MV37 Advanced Guardian Drone designated Oe-hei [13d] and a MV62 Command-Link Drone designated Oe-ken-yon [13d] [9]. Now that we’ve covered the basics of Shadowsun’s event, let’s go over the characters you are going to want to level and use during it.

Final Thoughts

After failing to do so once more following the T'au's great victory during the Prefectia Campaign, Kor'sarro next hunted the T'au supreme commander during the Second Agrellan Campaign, again without success. Though he would have remained no matter the cost until his oath was fulfilled or he was slain by the T'au, a call from the White Scars Chapter Master Jubal Khan came from Chogoris. Aun'var decided to divide his expeditionary force, one half pushing further into the Dovar system and the other returning to Mu'gulath Bay to ensure his supply routes remained intact. [1h]
