About this deal

So, good B&W printing is possible, but you will need to experiment. Also, be prepared to accept that some papers, no matter how well known the brand, might just not work very well. Printing Why print with a ‘wrong’ profile? Well, it’s a standard Epson paper and I might have thought quite close to ‘Semi-Gloss’.

This is why your B&W print may look different under tungsten (warm) lighting compared to cooler lighting or daylight. No amount of profiling will fix this. It is a ‘feature’ of current dye based inks There are also a wide variety of third-party apps available to enable wireless printing through Apple devices, even to machines that are not natively AirPrint compatible printers. By sharing a printer installed on an Apple Mac or Windows Pc over a wireless network any printer may be able to take advantage of the AirPrint features. (An additional third-party app may be required to be installed on the local machine) The printer does record some basic print history, which may be useful for keeping tabs on your printing (or others with access to the printer…) On photo paper, however, the results were sensational. Images were crisp and beautifully detailed, without showing any signs of artificial sharpening or enhancement. Thankfully, this also applied to colour reproduction, which was lively without looking artificial or oversaturated. Skin tones looked perfect, while precise shade control helped deliver high levels of detail.Noise Level5B (A)according to ISO 7779 pattern with Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper / Photo RPM mode - 36dB (A)according to ISO 9296 x 6", 5" x 7", 8" x 10", A4 (8.3" x 11.7"), letter (8.5" x 11"), legal (8.5" x 14"), 11" x 14", 12" x 12", B (11" x 17"), A3 (11.7" x 16.5") and Super B (13" x 19"), user definable (2.2" – 44" in length) Maximum Paper Size: Normally with Epson Pigment ink printers I’ve reviewed, the ABW mode is absolutely the best way to print B&W photos. However, with dye based inks there is typically more print variation under different lighting types Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™; level of performance subject to the range of the router being used. Wi-Fi Direct may require printer software. I can't print from Windows with a wireless connection after I replaced my router. What should I do?

Ultimate wireless and wired connectivity – easily print from iPad ®, iPhone ® and Android™ tablets and smartphones 4; also offers Ethernet networking I was able to print from my Mac before with a wireless connection, but now I can't. What should I do? I’m printing from EPL – note how the image doesn’t quite fit the paper – but I can always trim the paper,

Our Verdict

Trying with a profile (the one from the example print shown earlier) shows not only tonal balance wandering about, but a serious case of crunched up shadows. What I wanted to see, was if a cheaper printer like the XP-15000 could produce prints I’d be happy to have my name next to? It turns out that in many instances it could. Dye inks with Red and Grey I’ve got some ‘double A4’ paper which is good for panoramic images, although you could just as well cut a length from a 13″ roll.
