A second short-form series debuted on Disney Junior on February 24, 2018. It involves Zuzo, Elena's animal spirit guide, training her to properly use and strengthen the strong powers of her Scepter of Light.In an attempt to steal the tiara of Elena's mother, Carla sneaks into the royal palace. But not everything goes as planned. Elena of Avalor is executive-produced by Craig Gerber (of the Emmy Award-nominated Sofia the First). Silvia Cardenas Olivas (Moesha, The Brothers Garcia), an alumna of the National Hispanic Media Coalition's Television Writers Program, is the story editor, and Elliot M. Bour (The Little Engine That Could) is the supervising director. The TV series' cultural advisors are Doris Sommer, Harvard University professor and Director of Graduate Studies in Spanish; and Marcela Davison Aviles, Managing Director and Executive Producer, El Camino Project, an international Latino arts initiative. Seal It - Since being given a boost from the crystal Well of Takaina, the Scepter can now permanently seal doors in a cluster of blue-white crystals. According to Gabriel and Esteban, these are impenetrable.

Obscure is a spell that temporarily blinds someone and Chaos is a spell that confuses the target. The Scepter of Night is destroyed by the Scepter of Light and the jewel part is what remains of it. It may or may not have the ability to teleport the user.

It is an exciting day in the Kingdom of Avalor because a solar eclipse is going to take place, which happens over Avalor once every two or three hundred years. For the occasion, Isabel has invented a Solar Projector, a telescope that can project an image of the sun on a wall, allowing everyone to watch the eclipse safely without getting their eyes hurt by the sun's light. While everyone else is excited, Armando is not because he fears the evil moth fairy Orizaba will appear during the eclipse. Long ago, Orizaba tried to bring total darkness to Avalor until a Maruvian wizard stopped her and sent her to the Spirit World, but it is said that Orizaba found a way to return to Avalor every solar eclipse so she can fulfill her dark plans. While Armando believes it is true, Elena and Isabel dismiss it as just a fairy tale with a roar of laughter. When Esteban says he needed to be seen and to be heard, that is a bit of a reference to the song " Speechless" from the 2019 live-action remake of Aladdin. Elena meets up with her sister and grandparents and confirms Mateo's report as accurate. Isabel informs her they need her help to build their float. Elena goes to get ready. She then starts singing about how happy she is that Avalor is finally safe. Her joy activates her magic in a way that makes her joy infectious and brings the model of Isabel's float to life. The animated float names herself Flo. Elena goes to Mateo and Zuzo about this and they inform her that her new magic is tied to her emotions. Elena and Flo arrive at the float area. Meanwhile, Dona Paloma arrives with her costumes and voices ideas that Naomi, Gabe, and Marlena all agree are terrible. Suddenly, a bunch of stuff goes missing and thanks to Elena awakening her Scepter's ability for Truth Vision, Flo is discovered to be the perp. In " A Tale of Two Scepters", after Shuriki has gotten her hands on the Scepter of Night, Elena goes to Vallestrella to gets lessons from Quita Moz and three other sunbirds; Lama, Hool, and Qapa. A new spell was 'Farsight'. Elena says the word and thinks of someone to view no matter how far away they are. Elena already knew Blaze, but they teach her how to sustain it and hold the blaster longer by keeping the word in her head. They also tell her the Scepters of Light and Night have spells with opposing abilities. Whichever Scepter casts a spell, the other could reverse it with ease.
