We finally get ANSWERS. Alex’s dad working with Yassen, and the way it all tied into the prologue, was astounding. I kind of figured it out. Kind of. But I still loved it. I was also a bit disappointed by Yassen’s death but part of me is like “is he really dead?” Cause one does not simply kill off Yassen. But only time will tell.

His high level of self-control is further evidenced in his ability to kill without showing any emotion or remorse for the life he is about to extinguish, though his declaration that he does not kill children as well as his expressed affection for both John and Alex Rider serve to indicate that he does indeed have a softer side. At first, though, he found it difficult to kill someone he has never met.

Alex is described as being a strikingly good looking 15 year old boy, with fair hair (as said in Stormbreaker) or light brown hair (as said in Crocodile Tears and Scorpia Rising) and a handsome slender face that would “attract plenty of girls.” He also has serious brown eyes and a slightly hard, narrow mouth. The first novel, Stormbreaker, was released in the United Kingdom in the year 2000 and was adapted into a film in 2006, starring Alex Pettyfer as the titular protagonist. The second and fourth books were adapted into a TV series in 2020 and 2021 respectively, this time starring Otto Farrant. Walker Books published the first novels in the United Kingdom alongside Puffin in the United States. More recent entries in the series were published by Philomel Books, an imprint of Penguin Books. Scorpia Rising - released 21 March 2011 in Australia, 22 March 2011 in the US and 31 March 2011 in the UK. Ed Cumming of The Independent awarded the series three out of five stars, describing it as "stylish but not sanitised, catching more of the books' momentum and bringing them up to speed with the 21st century". He regarded Alex Rider as more faithful to the series than the 2006 Stormbreaker film. He also praised Farrant's version of Alex Rider as more plausible than Alex Pettyfer's version of the character, describing the former as "a teenage schoolboy with a footballer haircut but less of a male-model energy." Cumming also praised the series for aiming at both young adults and adults, inclusion of modern communications technologies like smartphones and social media, and more diverse cast. [44] The Spinoff 's reviewer Sam Brooks praised the TV series for capturing the spirit of the original novel series and appealing to both teenagers and adult fans who had grown up reading the novel series. Brooks also praised Farrant's performance as Alex Rider, opining that he nailed the soul of the teenage protagonist by capturing his strengths, moods, and fears. [35] Alex is then put forward to play Feathered Serpent, against his will, and comes face to face with Cray. He then discovers the powerful graphics of Gameslayer for himself; his character is himself, digitally rendered into the game. He does surprisingly well at the demonstration, but Cray makes him lose on the final level. This increases Alex's suspicions of the man (hatred of losing and arrogance), which only sharpen when the journalist who questioned Cray about video game violence is killed in a hit and run.
