About this deal

If you’re tech-savvy then you can also connect this fan to your WiFi, whereby it's compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa. So you can shout at the controls rather than angrily pressing buttons to make it do what you want. Whisper Flex: the first design fan with the option to make it completely wireless. Thanks to the free smartphone app optional battery, you can use this fan anywhere and take it with you; For example, to your bedroom or that place in your garden where you like to read a book. It is adjustable in height and transforms effortlessly from table to floor model due to the horizontal and vertical swing. And the best part? It\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s whisper-quiet, so you can focus on that one book or go to sleep peacefully. The Duux Whisper Flex Smart is a quiet, powerful and reasonably good-looking fan. It’s quite compact, with the advantage that you can convert it between floor-standing and desk modes. Its support for horizontal and vertical oscillation – including the ability to point almost vertically up – helps make it suitable for almost any application, from overnight bedroom use to cooling a big room on hot days. The fan itself is a high power, with double rotor blades that pump out a lot of air while staying whisper quiet, from as low as 13db up to 50db. It can be adjusted in height so it can be placed on a desk or set up on a floor, and has vertical as well as horizontal tilt, giving you a huge variety of options when it comes to set up. As for power consumption, the Whisper Flex consumes around 28.5W at full power and just 3.5W at its lowest setting. Again, you’ll struggle to find a more frugal pedestal fan, though the Meaco 1056P manages to push a little more air for fewer Watts.

There’s also a timer function that lets you set a time duration between 1-12 hours after which the fan will automatically switch off; a night mode that automatically turns the LCD display off after 10 seconds for nighttime use; and a temperature function whereby the fan will measure the ambient room temperature against your desired setting and will automatically decrease its speed once the goal temperature is reached. And it puts out a fair bit of heat too. You’ll likely find yourself turning it off as it really does warm things up– even things like garages or drafty garden offices. Duux says that the Whisper Flex Smart can circulate 710 cubic metres (m 3) of air per hour. For the outright volume of air moved, this places it more in line with the Meacofan 650 Air Circulator (which circulates 650m 3), rather than the Meacofan 1056. In theory, this means the larger Meacofan is more effective than the Whisper Flex Smart, but you’d probably only notice it in the largest rooms. This fan’s powerful output, combined with its ability to point almost straight upwards, means you can point it at a ceiling for effective, draft-free air circulation. Meet the whisper-quiet Duux fan that surprises you with a gentle breeze, a strong gust of wind and everything in between. The Duux Whisper has no less than 26 modes. This way you will always find the perfect airflow strength. What\’s great: it doesn\’t matter where you go in the room, because thanks to the horizontal and vertical oscillating function, it brings a pleasant coolness everywhere. Both of these things are great, as they mean you’re getting a powerful but unobtrusive fan that can easily sit in the corner of your room and won’t overpower conversation or late-night TV watching!Until… one day I entered a metropolitan gallery for some “eye candy” of the cultural variety and was almost immediately surprised by a pleasant draft of air. I heard nothing and tried to locate the source. Smart fans save you money by regulating their usage. A fan isn’t particularly expensive to run, but the costs add up over time. By reducing the time that your fan is on, or running at high speeds Convenience

There didn't seem to be instructions for operating the fan via this power button, although repeatedly tapping it seemed to increase the fan speed, and after struggling for a while to figure out how to turn the fan off at the base – something not covered in the instruction manual – I discovered a long press of the power button turned the fan off. Like many fans, there’s a ‘natural wind’ mode designed to mimic a real breeze. This is usually a less-than-convincing cycle through three clearly discernible speeds, but with unusually fine speed control, the Whisper Flex actually pulls it off. There’s also a Night mode that switches off the display and hushes the command beep. Infuriatingly, you can’t switch the latter off altogether. So why is this not our top choice, because this is basically the best-bladed fan on the list? Simple. Price. While most fans only offer 1, 2 or 3 different wind speeds, the Whisper has no fewer than 26. This way you determine exactly how hard the wind blows through the room. The Whisper lives up to its name and is one of the quietest fans of its kind. The little sound that is produced is reminiscent of the wind you hear rustling outside. If you want, the Whisper switches itself between different wind speeds and airflow directions. The height is adjustable and the fan rotates left and right as well as up and down. This way, the cool air is evenly distributed throughout the room. One thing I wasn't clear about from the online description of this fan is what's meant by the fact it's 'height adjustable'. I imagined you'd have full control over the height setting between the shortest 60cm and tallest 104cm settings with the ability to move the fan head up and down on a sliding scale, but this isn't the case. As one of our reviewers said, 'It's the only fan I can get to sleep with; it's so quiet. If I wasn't able to feel how powerful it was, I'd forget it was even on'. High praise indeed considering the headache-inducing drone that a lot of fans produce whilst they're operating. The second pedestal fan on our list, the Duux Whisper Flex differentiates itself by the internal battery, which lets this fan operate for up to 18 hours without being plugged into the mains. At some point I was pleased to hear that Mr Dyson (yes that one) would also be embarking on the shaky path of air travel. The ultimate result of his involvement, however, was downright disappointing. Yes, the design was visually groundbreaking. No fan blades but a futuristic looking ring with a strong airflow coming out of it. But what a noise!! It looked like a hairdryer on full blast….
