About this deal

Pink Girl, Blue Boy: Huggy Wuggy is a male blue-furred monster; Kissy Missy, his Distaff Counterpart, has pink fur. Cute and Psycho: She's pink-colored, has big green eyes with lashes, and is designed to be a sweet mother figure to children, but spending years isolated in the abandoned factory (where she was being experimented on, no less) shattered whatever sanity she had left. Because You Were Nice to Me: She decides to help you in Chapter 2, after you free her from her case, promising to give you the code to a train that can help you escape. Subverted at the end of Chapter 2, where she tells you that being such a selfless hero makes you perfect for her plans and re-directs your train deeper into the factory. Possibly double subverted when she states that she needs you to set things right in the factory after stating that terrible things have happened and that you're perfect for helping her do so... right before something cuts off the transmission.

Meaningful Name: His name sounds awfully similar to 'Harlequin Sawer', befitting his role as a mad doctor doing experiments on living toys. Huggy Wuggy is said to be a controversial media character because of children buying toys of Huggy Wuggy and taking them to preschool which caused angry parents to forbid the game. The real danger is that stories about Poppy Playtime and the Huggy Wuggy character spiral out of control like the Momo Challenge. We’ve already seen reports eager to connect the scary Huggy Wuggy character to children jumping out of windows or breath holding playground games. Ambiguous Situation: As of now, it's not clear if Poppy is an antagonist or not. Chapter 2 shows her in a sympathetic light, with her even stating that she needs the player character to help her stop something worse, but even then, it's unclear whether or not her motives are either good or evil.

Main Mascots

Simpleton Voice: In contrast, the normal Huggy toys have this kind of voice. His goofy laugh can be heard in his theme song, as heard in Chapter 1, while in Chapter 2, a Huggy cutout plays goofy voice lines relating to hugs at each press of a button. A chunky blue cat with a wide open mouth and a long, pink tongue, Candy Cat is a gluttonous gal who makes her main, in-game appearance as a cardboard cutout which you can ‘feed’ by hitting a big red button. In the Chapter 2 ‘assessment forms’ we learn that she was assigned to an orphan girl named Makayla Hyssop. Many players theorise that the soul of Makayla now resides inside Candy Cat. True Blue Femininity: Her attire includes a blue Victorian dress, complete with blue ribbons in her hair.

Honest Corporate Executive: Subverted, although she is a hard-working and friendly Game Station announcer, she is still responsible for the deaths of various orphans.Alas, Poor Villain: Her drawn-out and brutal death, mixed with her terror of being made part of "The Prototype" and her sympathetic motivations, makes her fate rather poignant despite everything she's put the Player through.

A meta example, but a poster reveals she has a husband (Daddy Long Legs) whom she has a child with (Baby Long Legs). It's implied they were created after the success of the Mommy Long Legs toy. Cute Creature, Creepy Mouth: His design is fairly cute looking... right up until his jumpscare shows that his mouth is full of sharp teeth. His monster counterpart remains largely the same, with the exception of his eyes being dilated bigger than intended, giving off a deranged and disturbing physique. Behind his lips is a maw of dozens of jagged needle-like teeth. Closer observation of Huggy's mouth shows a secondary set of jaws located by his throat, akin to that of a Moray Eel. Machine Blood: Just like Huggy Wuggy, Mommy Long Legs is shown to have this when her abdomen is crushed in a grinder, leaving a stain on the grinder.

In Chapter 2, Mommy Long Legs dispatches both Bunzo Bunny and all of the Mini-Huggies before hoisting their corpses up in webs on the ceiling. During one of her chases, she was also shown pulling down an entire ceiling with just one of her hands. A small, battery-operated green robot created by Playtime Co. in 1993, Boogie Bot is an unusual little fella who rarely pops up in toy-form or as a cardboard cutout throughout Chapters 1 and 2. Lovable, playful, and always up for a good spot of grooving, Boogie Bot won the hearts of adults and kids alike, and is described in his Digital Collectible profile as ‘amongst the cutest robots Playtime Co. has ever come to know’. We’ve not seen a spooky side to this boppin’ bot just yet, and we kinda hope it stays that way – he’s just too cute to be corrupted.

Super-Persistent Predator: Completely undeterred by you fleeing through the narrow assembly line tunnels, despite the fact it can't chase after you at full running speed. Throughout the games, you can find multiple tapes and files that talk about the Playtime Co. employees. These are the main people who worked for Playtime Co., creating, voicing, and selling toys, holding events and games for children, conducting experiments, and more. Here’s a brief rundown of the different Poppy Playtime employees.Super-Strength: Not the toys themselves, but rather the mascots based on them since they can incapacitate and kill humans easily, among other things.
