About this deal

Julia was very emotionally unstable, and she took sleeping pills to ease her depression while taking Benzedrine to keep up with modelling and controlling her appetite. Julia also had an insatiable need for money and was obsessed with luxury living, jewelry and fine clothes. As she was desired by many men, such as Henry Arnett and Harold Stoneman, she used them to her advantage and they willingly committed acts of crime to appease her. Examine the three pictures in the living room; look at them all closely to find a hidden message behind one of them. The case itself, both in name and plot, is based off the 1948 film " The Naked City". This movie was directed by Jules Dassin - this is referenced in the game (in this same case) in the name of the dress shop where both the primary victim and her friend worked; "D'Assine." Key differences between the two cases (that of the movie and that of the game) include location (the game takes place in Los Angeles while the film takes place in New York City), narrative (the story in the game is told in a straightforward manner through Phelps' perspective while the film is as much an examination of life in New York City as it is about the murder investigation), and the time frame (the story told in the game takes place over the course of one day and night while the film's story unfolds throughout several days and nights). L.A. Noire is heavily influenced by the films L.A. Confidential, Chinatown and The Naked City, among many others, using characters and locations similar to various noir movies, with some characters being outright named in homage to others (an example being Roy Earle). After tailing him on the car you'll have to stalk him more on foot. Then use the police phone after reuniting with Roy and head for Hollywood Ninth Beat. L.A. Noire - DLC Cases Walkthrough - L.A. When you arrive at the crime scene, a police officer with a cigarette will tell you its on the 2nd floor, Apartment 6. Make sure to grab the morphine syrette evidence from the trash before climbing the stairs after entering the building as this is 1/3 needed for the Achievement/Trophy, A Good Looking Corpse. Then head upstairs and go towards the open door at the end of the hallway. When you get near the door, a cutscene will start playing. You will meet up with your former Traffic and Homicide partners. The animation for characters entering cars shows that they are putting on 3-point seatbelts. Lap style seat belts were not even offered as options in cars until 1949 and 3-point seat belts were patented in 1955. Once you're done talking with her, she will bring out Julia's friend, Heather Swanson and have a talk. She informs Cole that she got the job at D'Assine because of Julia. Phelps notices Heather's engagement ring and asks to examine it. While examining, Phelps states that it must have been very expensive. When you're done return the ring and interview her. The following morning a trashman sweeps a gutter of yesterday’s newspapers, and with them the Jean Dexter case. A concluding voiceover states, "There are eight million stories in the naked city. This has been one of them." L.A. Noire has largely received critical acclaim, with critics praising the game for its story and facial animation technology.

A cutscene will trigger when reaching the floor. Also among the building's occupants is 'O'Shaughnessy & Wonderly Barristers'. In that same movie, O'Shaughnessy and Wonderly happen to be the names of the character portrayed by lead actress Mary Astor and the name of her alibi, respectively. Upon arriving, a cutscene will be triggered, and someone will answer the door. We'll eventually talk with Mrs. Evestrom.
