About this deal

I ended up getting the ESS K5 Pro and been really pleased with it. The Sennheisers and specially the Hifiman HE400se sound lovely with it.

Living in Glasgow, Scotland but born and raised near Milan, Italy, I got the passion for music listening as a legacy from my father and my grandfather. Can I use the C200 as a pre amp. using the RCA out into one of the Line inputs on my Yamaha AS 501 amp ? Plugging in the Moondrop KATO called for low gain mode and I spent most of my time between -38dB and -32dB. This is a wonderful pairing, resulting in a clean, dynamic and punchy sound brimming with musicality and detail. Switching to the FiiO FH5s reveals even more details and a wide, expansive soundstage. ConclusionYes, do test again with the LPS in place. You might be surprised. Apart from that. I do know what you mean by the DX3 Pro having a more centered sound and more pronounced vocals. The Topping D50 was more 'airy', had more detail and had a much bigger soundstage than the DX3 Pro. I was able to place instruments more accurately with the D50. The DX3 Pro sounds a bit more compressed but is a little more musical. It is able to bring the entire composition together better than the D50. Pairing to the DX3 Pro+ via Bluetooth was super easy on my Sony NW ZX-300, iPhone and Pc. LDAC was selected automatically with my Sony DAP while I was restricted to AAC when using the iPhone (damn you Apple)! The Bluetooth Audio quality is fantastic, especially when using LDAC or aptX HD. Setup I had to turn the subwoofer gain up a tiny bit - around 2-3 degrees of the rotary gain control. The mids are more forward. Vocals, once again, are beyond imaginably good! Listening to Lindsey Webster singing "Those Three Words", it seems like she's in my listening room! Vocals are very, very smooth. Now I hear the 'velvet sound' of the AKM DAC chips in the DX3 Pro. Treble is a little further away. Pausing the music and holding my ear to the speakers and subwoofer, all are 'dark' with no interference noise. Soundstage is a little narrower than the D50 (as was the case with my headphones system), and instrument separation is less too. Overall, the sound is very musical and great for me as I work from home a lot so it's lovely to listen to for several hours a day. It's nicer to listen to for long periods - less fatiguing.

On top of the device itself and the Bluetooth antenna, which you need to install manually, the SMSL C200’s box comes with a rather slim set of accessories which only includes the remote control, a USB to USB-C cable and the power cable. There are also a manual and a warranty card. Design & Build Now I have my fully tuned and customised ES9018 DAC next to it with dual AD828 opamps in class A. And i'd have to say the 9018 is wider in sound stage and has that typical ESS sparkle but less detail and depth. Less musical. The DX3 Pro is my easy choice to go to for daily listening. It's well balanced and maybe not having that sparkle that I've come to love from ESS chips but a solid well rounded ans detailed sound.I have a pair of JBL 305 MII and it sounds great on my PC (JDS atom lap+D30), and another pair of JBLs connect to my tv via 3.5 > XLR and the sound is not like the PC setup. Thanks David! Running in DAC mode makes all the difference. Running in pre-amp mode must compromise my amplifier in some way. I also have the volume cranked all the way up in iTunes and in my system preferences. I can’t help but feel this is going to damage something, but maybe this is standard operating procedure for outputting laptop audio to a stereo system? The DX3 Pro+ sounds cohesive and expressive whether you’re feeding it absurdly large DSD files or streaming from Spotify. Obviously, you need to use high-quality files to get the absolute best fidelity from a DAC like this. But at the same time, you’re not going to feel disappointed if you’re streaming files via Bluetooth. Either way, the DX3 Pro+ will impress.

Review and Measurements of Topping DX3Pro DAC and Headphone Review and Measurements of Topping DX3Pro DAC and Headphone

Tako da, gledaj da to bude DAC/AMP uređaj.I won’t spend your time here as DAC outs have the same general tonality as the headphone output. But while the headphone amplification section stands out with high power and great drive compared to similarly priced devices, DAC out doesn’t have much going for it. It’s simply another highly detailed, analytical, sharp, thin-sounding DAC. Comparisons Also I remember you come from Dragonfly Red right? Do you feel right at home with the switch to K5 Pro ESS?
