Jane Considine will be coming to Northamptonshire on the 12th December 2023 to deliver Hooked on Books, in person. We aim to make handwriting an automatic process that does not interfere with creative and mental thinking. to speak clearly, fluently and coherently, to be able to listen attentively with understanding, pleasure and empathy and contribute to group discussions The poster is perfect for working walls to add pupil, and author, examples of sentence types and structures, e.g. a complex/multi-clause sentence, a simile sentence or a feeling sentence. The poster is organised into three tiers to match the ‘Three Zones of Writing’; the FANTASTICs, the GRAMMARISTICs and the BOOMTASTICs. Many teachers find this poster particularly useful to provide guidance for greater depth. Pupils who are familiar with this poster find that it reminds them of the wealth of ways they can showcase flair and structures independently during their ‘Deepen the Moment’ aspects of writing. IDEAS - The FANTASTICs uses a child friendly acronym to represent the nine idea lenses through which children can craft their ideas.During the initiate section children ‘chot’ (chat and jot) down their ideas from stimulating resources, such as pictures, music and drama. The children are encouraged to use ‘kind calling out’ where they call out examples of vocabulary, adverbs, onomatopoeia etc.

The Three Zones of Writing: The FANTASTICs (Ideas), The GRAMMARISTICs (Tools), and The BOOMTASTICs (Techniques) support their learning, precision and writing. Jane Considine will be coming to Northamptonshire on the 7th December 2023 to deliver Fantastic Foundations, in person. write for a range of purposes including diary entries, persuasive letters, stories, poems and recounts to name but a few.

In the Enable section pupils write their own sentences, taking the opportunity to deepen the moment. ‘Deepen the Moment’ is where children are challenged to independently draw upon previously learnt skills and apply them to their writing during that chunk.
