Ugh! My absolute broken heart! Yet so tragic, so poignant and an ending that will give you hope & faith again. What an amazing story of tragedy, heartbreak, yet resilience and survival. An enriching novel about how beauty is far more than skin deep. I personally was close with my Mother like Veronique and I felt for her as a character especially. Steel stole the entire show with this novel. I was moved to tears & love. From #1 New York Timesbestselling author Danielle Steel comes an uplifting novel about an author who—to her surprise—inherits a grand estate near London. I do believe this author has potential, because something about the writing seemed like it could be interesting, I just wish there was an interesting plot as well. I see the author has written a ton of books maybe that's the problem I don't know.

She will never let go of her true dream of becoming a filmmaker, though, and if she wants to make that leap, she will have to expose herself in ways she never has before. When tragedy strikes, she must decide whether she will remain center stage or become invisible again, where she feels safest. Will she face her demons, or run and hide?Considering the theme of the plot, everything seems to wrap up rather conveniently when Danielle could have really sunk her teeth into it and penned a more deep, grittier and substantial storyline. The second author is Danielle Steel. I often have to defend my passion for her stories. Some find her writing style too bland and repetitive. Both of these critiques are accurate but for me that's part of her charm. I can count on every book to contain relatable characters. They will face physical, mental or moral challenges that speak to all of us. Steel is a master of drawing the reader in - I cry through each book. Veronique Vincent is an international model who is at the top of her game. She travels the world as one of the most sought-out models in the world. She loves her life and knows she can’t be a model forever. Her mother has managed her career and saved her money and invested it wisely. Veronique’s best friend is her mother, who is a successful lawyer and also lives in Paris.

I felt that Antonia was such a well behaved child but my heart went out to her as no child deserves to be treated to feel unwanted as her mother makes abundantly clear. Her father is always away so Antonia is left alone and constantly hiding so as to feel safe. Suddenly her mother deserts both her marriage and her only child and Brandon can't believe how selfish his wife is and feels like he made a huge mistake by bringing this cold Parisian women into his life and he agrees that his marriage is a disaster. He is left to take care of their daughter. Brandon becomes obsessed with working and hires a live in babysitter to take care of Antonia. Antonia was only a child when her mother abandoned her and her father and Brandon becomes remote and closed off from his daughter. I worried that Antonia would grow up and have issues with attachment since both parents never made her feel wanted or loved. Normally when a child prefers to be invisible so as not to be seen and heard and most of all loved they grow up and have problems with relationships since they can't trust that they are unworthy of love. Beautiful follows the world of Veronique Vincent, the world’s most successful model and when an accident happens she must take a journey of self discovery. Thank you to #NetGalley and the publisher for the early edition of #Beautiful in exchange for an honest review. We're all living a masked existence, hiding away from life during the pandemic. Some are self-quarantining while others are in forced isolation due to COVID. When there's a new Danielle Steel book out, I feel compelled to read it. Suspects is her latest. It's a short book that offers no surprises - but that's not why you read Danielle Steel. Her books are little treats that can be gobbled down in a sitting or two and offer an enjoyable escape. A little glitz and glamour are always fun when there's some espionage added. Not her best but enjoyable, nevertheless.

As excellent and well known Danielle Steel is as an author, in my opinion her latest novel "The Whittiers" is not one of her best works. The main idea of the book was ambitious but not all that well developed. To summarize, the story follows a total of six siblings and their various storylines in the aftermath of a tragedy (respectfully, I won't divulge the details any further than this for those who decide to read the book). Faith Ferguson is New York’s most in-demand wedding planner, an arbiter of taste for elegant affairs, lavish ceremonies, and exclusive fêtes. She appreciates a simple celebration as much as a dazzling event, for she knows that a dream wedding is not necessarily the most expensive one. I have been reading Danielle Steel books for a number of years now and I enjoy passing on her novels to my step mum to read as she is a big fan of the popular author’s work. Beautiful has a striking and bold cover that immediately caught my eye. I liked the idea of such a relevant, timely and pointed novel about the construction of beauty being a central topic of examination. The bones were there with this one, but I don’t think it was executed that well. But on a much-anticipated getaway, tragedy strikes, changing her life forever. She is forced to confront the harsh reality that neither her personal and professional life will ever be the same, and secludes herself, hiding the truth from the industry that adored her. Many thanks to Delacorte Press | Penguin Random House for the opportunity to read The Whittiers in advance of its publication.
