Deel 1 van deze graphic novel, en tevens mijn eerste kennismaking met graphic novels, was me zo goed bevallen dat ik sta te springen om deel 2 van deze serie te lezen. Deze LGBTIQ+ novel wist enorme indruk op me te maken. Terwijl deel 1 een lichte cover had, heeft het tweede deel een donker turqouise cover, toch sluiten de twee covers perfect op elkaar aan. Ik kan dan ook niet wachten hoe het verhaal van Ari en Hector gaat eindigen. The thing is, too, that it had so much more to it than being a “falling for you” story... albeit that WAS undeniably my favorite part (I mean come ON ! What isn’t to love about Ari & Hector?! I could not get enough of this beautifully executed— both visually AND in written word— queer lovvveeeee story!!At long last, the secret history of the Queen of Hell is revealed, and she sets her vengeful gaze upon the Spellman family. No one, especially those close to Sabrina, is safe, and very, very soon, the quiet streets of Greendale will run red with blood… Ook de liefde voor bakkunsten komt in dit tweede deel weer helemaal tot uiting. Ik vind het erg leuk hoe dat in het verhaal is verwerkt en in beeld is gebracht. I mean you already had sold me at graphic novel gays, but uhm carbs ( carbs = both the love of my life, & the bane of my existence) ALSO did NOT HURT, i’ll tell you what. ) In dit tweede en tevens slotdeel van deze graphic novel gaan we direct verder met het verhaal waar het vorige boek geëindigd was. Graphic novels are a great way to explore new stories—or revisit well-loved ones in whole new ways. Oftentimes filled with visual color and always with jaw-dropping artwork, if you haven’t tried one, you’re definitely missing out! There are so many awesome stories in the graphic novel world—especially the YA graphic novel world—and if you’re totally willing to dive in, then there’s no better time than now!
