Enid was a turning point in my life, the thing that made me long to tell my own stories and have my own adventures. Blyton was a prolific author of children's books, who penned an estimated 800 books over about 40 years. By the end of the year, I was no longer thought of as stupid, and school become this marvelous place where you could go and leave with your head full of things you'd never known before. But we always end on a nice note with a nice land to visit and this time it's the Land of Treats after the gang saves the Faraway Tree from near death. With lands such as ‘The Land of Topsy-Turvy’, ‘The Land of Toys’ and the famous ‘The Land of Do-As-You-Please’ where they are free to do whatever they want, there’s a number of exciting and enthralling adventures taking place.Rick/Dick is gone,

A Faraway Tree Adventure: The Land of Goodies - Waterstones

It is the largest tree in the world; so large that the top reaches the clouds, and at the very top the Faraway Tree connects to a magical land. But the smart-ass in the group decides to test the limits of the system, and asks for a sardine ice-cream. Initially released through George Newnes once again, and later the publisher Hamlyn in 1971, it was first published in 1943. Loved how magic and companionship with a tinch of trust and love can shape a person's character and help in the growth of a sempiternal bond. The magic lands that visit the top of the Faraway Tree are on thin ice, because obviously there is a limit to what the imagination can do when one is ageing and having experimented with all permutations of storytelling. In 1997, stories from the novels were adapted into animated ten-minute episodes for the TV series Enid Blyton's Enchanted Lands. At the beginning of the story she is an insufferable little brat who has clearly been spoiled rotten. Together they climb through the cloud at the top of the Faraway Tree and visit the wonderful places there, the Land of Secrets and the Land of Treats - and Connie learns to behave herself! The first title of the main trilogy, The Enchanted Wood, was published in 1939, although the Faraway Tree and Moon-Face had already made a brief appearance in 1936 in The Yellow Fairy Book.

The characters were also known to see some cosmetic changes once again in relation to their given names. I will always know Enid Blyton as the author whose name is written so unclear on the books, to my non-English eyes, it could be read as Enicl, Gnid, or Enid. The children have many adventures in these lands, closing out the book with a day spent in perhaps the best of all, Birthday Land. This setting was something that Blyton really had a strong affinity with and, again, the story here is no exception.Like I said, simple adventure based stories for kids to grip onto rather than have to wade through the scene and character formation.
