As opposed to brushed motors, this brushless motor technology provides stability and dynamic performance for the driver right through to the end of every race. While this is a new model, it actually slots neatly into the same modular system used by the Thrustmaster T500 RS, which was released in the PS3 era but offers some compatibility with PS4. You’ll find the same rubberised, grippy service on the GT Edition, and the same joypad buttons – including a Share button too.
You can fix the wheelbase onto a desk using the provided clamp, which must be screwed in from the bottom, but it’s a little flimsy. If you’re a racing fan, it’s something you should experience, and we can confirm that the Thrustmaster T300 RS is the real deal. Where the T500 model uses brushed motors for its force feedack, the T300 RS is brushless — where the motors use Hall sensors in place of brushes. Just like the standard T300RS wheel, the GT Edition base also uses Thrustmaster quick release system, so you can put on any other compatible wheel faces. The brushless motor’s endurance allows the racing wheel to maintain constant intensity and power in terms of Force Feedback, avoiding a loss of sensations even during very long gaming sessions.
