Part of why you want bots in a game is because you don’t have enough human players to make it fully enjoyable. You then flip a card each turn and place either a worker on a marked location, Nightweave into the meadow based on a number decided by a dice roll or apply the cards listed effect. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.

The Nightweave cards are well illustrated on the back but lack the great artwork of the other types of cards on the front with just text present (Figures 6 +7).Although you can play Mistwood using “only” the core Nightweave rules, the inclusion of both the Plans and Plots modules elevate this solo experience even further both in terms of strategical considerations and also variety. You can also see most of the cards that Nightweave picks up and giving them low point cards from various card effects may seem terrible, but if you give 1- or 2-point cards this will help reduce the chance of Nightweave playing the high point cards that they may have acquired over the course of the game. You won’t always know what Nightweave is about to do, so there’s a surprise element, but for me, part of the fun in playing against bots is trying to figure out how I can use their scripts to work against them. I really like the solo modules as well which not only increase replayability but also makes each game a different puzzle with you having to outthink Nightweave in different ways.

The main theme of the expansion is that Nightweave is taking over the wood and you need to fight to prevent that happening. For example, the Snagged plans card stipulates that in addition to destination cards not counting against Nightweave’s city limit, she also has the audacity of denying you payment when visiting one of your constructions cards that features an open sign! Not only does this add an element of unpredictability but the Personalities module also ensures that the central card tableau never runs the risk of stagnating as more cards are cycled through compared to competing against the solo opponent in the base game of Everdell. The through every season module adds 8 unique farms to the game which can now have a different cost and offer potential different resource production instead of the regular berry. Therefore, it’s a good idea to keep cards and resources ready for when Nightweave passes for season particularly with the plots. Early stages of play might see her deploy one of her minions, known as spiderlings, to occupy a worker placement spot on the main board which prohibits you from gathering resources again much like when playing Everdell multiplayer. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Why not change the gameplay significantly so it feels more like its own bonafide co-op experience and less like a half-baked co-op experience?

At the end of the game any achievement cards that were collected (by modules) will be played into their city along with seeing if any one remaining basic event can be achieved and added to their victory point pile. I’m confused why the designers chose to make Nightweave more of a bot than a separate boss altogether.Performance cookies will help us collect anonymous data to make your experience better on our site, while ad cookies are provided by third parties to provide you with personalized ads and content relevant to your preferences. Spirecrest is an expansive and challenging new expansion, sure to surprise and delight even the most seasoned of Everdell players. These act as mini modular expansions to the base game of Everdell, a pleasant surprise that I was honestly not expecting when sorting through the components for the first time.
