I’ve been a Renbow Crazy Color user for years (after a falling out with a Stargazer dye) but while wandering through my local Superdrug, I couldn’t help but pick up a box from the new Colour Freedom range. I’ve still got darker tones in my hair, but since using these I’ve coloured with Directions Cerise and that’s what I’m picking up again this weekend. It was so super bright and even blinding when the sun hit off it in the car, I was so impressed with the result and to this day, around 2 weeks after its still not faded out of my hair! But in others, it didn’t take as well, but, I’ll explain to why I am so happy with it after I show you the mini journey we went on. On natural dark brown hair, do you think using the purple as a dip dye will wash out in a month or so?

I am only going to leave the dye in on the recommended time on the packet as I do want it to come out in time for school. Afterwards, I mixed the other two Crimson Red and Magenta Dream together and that was a beautiful reddy/pink tone. Our best-selling non-damaging and semi-permanent hair dye Riot shows up on unbleached hair and looks fiery red on lightened hair!I’ve just used Mystic Purple on my grey hair, which is quite light at the front and darker everywhere else. However, for shorter, damaged hair, or if you want to try something different, I’d say it’s definitely worth spending a little extra for a treatment whilst you dye.

I am so glad you guys have had good results, sad to say I hate this product and it did not work on my hair at all. But, with purple, due to it being a red based dye, it fades very, very quickly, as all red dyes and red based dyes do.I think I definitely want to start using these towards when my hair needs bleaching to hide my dark roots, and make sure my hair looks the best as possible. But we all know: my hair changes colour a lot, and I’ve been purple since March- yes, it’s really been that long. These dyes are a super thick and creamy formula, like Directions or Crazy Colour but they feel even more moisturising as they have shea butter and argan oil in them. Luckily, my hair is in really good condition to say I haven’t had a hair cut in around 8 months and it’s always being dyed.

It didn’t actually last as long this time, but I do think that’s down to my hair not having as much colour buildup as before to hold onto the dye, as my other dyes are wearing off just as fast now. Now I am fighting to get a green one of my hair is already three bleachings it would not have been able to get that green tone.Always conduct a strand test 48 hours prior to each application as advised on pack and in the instructions. A couple of months back I had my hair bleached and lightened which means it’s a lot brighter and colours come out a lot truer now too. We all know I started dying my hair purple in March using Live XXL Mystic Violet hair dye, and while I’m still purple, I recently switched to Superdrugs own Cosmic Purple seeing as it is usually a 2 for 1 offer, and it’s not tested on animals. The extra large tube means this could be used at least twice if you have long hair and will easily last me for 3-4 dye-jobs.

Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. But, it wasn’t the colour we were after, so I left it for a weekend so my hair colour have a bit of a break, then we moved on and lightened it a little bit more. I used Colour Freedom in Crimson Red a few weeks after bleaching my roots which means I had quite a bit of regrowth, but because Crimson Red is darker and more intense, it made my regrowth look amazing. At first, my roots were more purple and the ends of my hair were pinkier/redder, I didn’t mind at all and I rather liked it.

If you do not update your preferences, we will assume that you are happy to receive amazing offers and news. But, I have still been conditioning with red dye, and it’s back to a similar colour, but actually even more pink and rose gold in some lights this time. Colour Freedom is a range of 8 semi-permanent colours that ideally should be used on pre-lightened/light hair, however, the reason I shock many people when they see my hair in person is that I rarely ever bleach it, so I didn’t for this either. It’s still really bright but it’s a more deeper red now 😍😍 I usually use directions or crazy colours but with bleaching my hair they were a had orangey!
